Nadal vs Rublev predictions? I will take Nadal in straight sets. Fed vs DelPo I like Fed in four.

I expect the buttpicker will win but hope he doesn't. I can't see DelPo maintaining the level he had in his previous match (final 3 sets). Plus Fed is playing well again after his shaky first couple of matches.

Man, watching this Williams/Kvitova match is like watching the same player going against themselves. Mens bracket is bland as oatmeal but the womens is sime great tennis.

Your post reminded me of those fighting video games where you go against a clone of your character.

Querry out. Just a little off last night. Anderson was pretty good.

I'm happy for Anderson. Just like someone like Youzhny, he's been a top 20 player for most of his career.

Good to see him get this chance.

He could get a big win every now and then, but would usually lose the next round.

This tourney he's strung a few together.

It happened in 1985. Martina Navritolova, the eventual champion, the runner-up Chris Evert, Kathy Rinaldi and Zina Garrison.

Yup, they mentioned it yesterday during the post-game interview.

I've never heard of Rublev before this tourney. This is only his 5th major.

He's only 19.

I say he takes at least a set. Nadal in 4.

If Nadal wins the first 2 sets, he'll win in straights. He won't drop the 3rd set.

If Del Potro ever gets his million dollar backhand, instead of this reduced one, he'll beat FED, and probably in 3.

FED in 5.

Yesterday continued another good day for this tourney.

Both night matches were good.

I can't give it a great because the Venus vs. Kvitova was a little sloppy with all of the missed serves.

But it was a good night to have 2 good matches.

And she wins in straight sets.
Good for her. I wasn't a huge fan of hers when I saw her win earlier in the tournament. She basically kissed the crowd's ass and came off as a NY asshole to me, but watching her game and the patience she has shown has me rooting for her.

I would probably pull for Madison if they end up playing in the next round though...

I saw Coco play in the Fed Cup final a few years ago in San Diego. She wasn't ready for that level of competition at the time and lost the deciding match. I had no idea she'd play at the level she has, especially this week.

I'll pull for Madison in the next round (assuming she wins her match tonight). I like her game. I love Venus, but would really like to see Sloane win the whole thing.

I love seeing new players get their chance to shine, so I am with you in wanting to see someone other than a Williams sister win the whole thing.

On the men's side, I can't see Anderson or Carrero Busta taking down Nadal or Roger (if that is who gets there)

Can't imagine how much stress JDP puts on those wrists with the long levers he has. His wingspan is ridiculous.

JDP came to play. When he's on and healthy he's tough for anybody. Would be funny if he got past Fed, people handed Nadal the tournament, and then he knocks out Nadal to get to the finals. Shades of 2009.

Hoping he or whoever wins the SF on the other side of the draw win the title

I'm assuming you lost some sort of bet against a Cleveland fan. The mens draw is a complete dud. If JDP doesn't do it tonight then the tournament is decided in the semis. If he wins tonight I think he'll take down Nadal. Seems like he's going out of his way to manage his energy right now for the long haul.

Outside of a final set tiebreaker like they have here at the US Open, is there a more important tiebreaker than the 3rd set tiebreaker after the players split the opening 2 sets?
