I've honestly got no problem at all with seeing how DDJ does in CF, and then make another decision if we need too.

Whoever they put in CF is just a placeholder until either Taveras or Julio Pablo Martinez is ready anyway.

Perhaps so. But what if he turns into a decent CF while continuing to be a catalyst for the offense? I'd love for us to have another option with a good player. How bout you? ha

If he plays good this year then he can be another trade chip to bring back prospects. If we do get Martinez then even Taveras might become a trade chip at some point. Once DDJ shows he has some trade value I would trade him.

that's 2-3 years down the line, and a lot can happen between now and then

Honestly the only negative about DDJ in CF is his arm, he could take better routes and angles, but he gets to a lot of balls on his speed alone, that might be troublesome if he was 30, but he's still got speed to burn out there and can still learn

Some say Trouts arm strengthened. Me not so sure but do agree that routes can get better. This sure looks like the year to let young guys either make it or break it. This Tocci guy may make the squad and there is your best CF defense and late inning replacement if that happens

Over the last five years, he has 27 relief appearances of at least two innings, 24 of them in the more specialist-centric AL. He ranks 18th among AL relievers in 2-inning outings in that time span. In the role, Chavez has excelled. He has a 1.40 ERA over 70 innings, 10th best among the 39 AL pitchers with at least 20 such outings. He is 5-0, suggesting he's been able to keep games from getting out of control when a starter fails.

He could theoretically pair well with lefty Alex Claudio, who has also been among the AL's best in that time. Claudio has 26 outings of two innings or more and has a 1.71 ERA in 63 innings while going 5-1.

Manager Jeff Banister said Wednesday the Rangers are looking for more options capable of going more than one inning as a part of the six-man rotation.

"Being able to identify guys who can go multiple innings is crucial," Banister said. "If you have a starter going 5.1 or 5.2 innings and you need to cover multiple innings and you have a guy that can also go back out there the next night and pitch in a winning situation, that's important. We are sitting here today, talking about a landscape that has been used very sparingly to this point. We're still looking to find players who do that and guys in camp who might be able to get up to speed to do it."

I got a new computer, and I can get logged on OK. But it takes me too the generic page of all sports topics every time, instead of to the Ranger site like it was previously doing.

How do I lock into the Ranger site and stay there after logging out?

I like the line up. How else do you suggest we determine who makes the team. Odor needs the chance to rebound. If he does/does not,then ST did it's job. Have to play them to know.
