Can somebody please explain to me why Hurdle keeps parading struggling Tony Watson to save the game. When I saw Watson coming in( orioles) I just knew he was going to give it up and he came through being a failure just like he proven this yr. I just don't get it.
Two nights in a row! :suds:

Seriously any player that had trade value last year is all but gone.

Hurdle is dumb f_ _ k. He keeps rolling Tony Watson out there as the closer instead of Rivero LOL

It is really sad those pirate fans at the game had to watch the ineptitude of Hurdle. Obviously Hurdle will keep rolling Watson out there to be the closer b/c he trust Watson so much obviously. It does not matter Watson had a disastrous Spring Training. Since May 9, he's allowed 10 earned runs in 13 innings. Meanwhile, fellow southpaw Rivero has coughed up just one run since April 25. Hello!!! it is time to remove Watson from the closer category. He is a late reliever/setup guy.

I'm trying so hard to remain interested in this year, but damn are they making it difficult.

Sad isn't it. I am in the same boat. With Marte gone, Polanco was slumping and McCutchen is washed up there is no excitement.

yep, ever since around Aug/Sept of last year, I just have this sense of this team backsliding to the "lose at all costs" era of the late 90s-early 2000s

Our pitching staff who are setting up these wins only to lose games at the end b/c of Hurdle dumb decisions.
Yes I am a true Pirates fan but I am mad as hell at what has gone on the last 2 games and the fact Hurdle was in the dugout laughing after Watson shit in the bed again.

I haven't seen Diaz play yet. Are his offensive numbers an aborition, also how is he defensively with pitch framing?

Just curious to see if it is worth the time when Cervelli is healthy to find a taker for him?

His defense is as advertised. Great arm, good receiver. And I don't know he'll be much more than an average hitter for his career, but he's smoking the ball right now.

He's going to be a good Major League starter. Probably not an All Star or anything, but an above average backstop.

The Kang Marte combo kind of killed my interest too. I just root for the young guys.

McCutchen has his ops back up to .800, lets hope he stays on fire for another month so we can at least get a decent haul for him.

Stinks with Cervelli, he all but has zero trade value now. If he gets a concussion every time he takes a foul ball he needs to find a new position. His bat doesn't translate well to most positions he could transition to.

Suddenly the lineup is looking good. Going to be nice to use Frazier to give guys like Jay Hay and Freese a day off or two a week. Freese is clearly worn down.

Got Cole and Taillon going the next 2 games, good time to get within 3 games. Though the Cubs are finally making their move it looks like.

Ya its the Cubs we have to worry about, going to be an interesting end of July. We could go in any direction.

I would say the season is over now with the 3-6 road trip and return home spanking by the Reds. The Reds were
3-14 in past 17 games and they tag the Bucs for 9 runs. Not the way the open up a home stand.

Yup. 9 games back now in the wild card race and 6.5 behind the Cubs. They could go on another short hot streak like they did in early July and make a run at the Cubs but I just don't see them being able to sustain the high level of play they'd need to win the division or get into the wild card race.
