They should not have lost to Maryland at home no matter how you wanna spin it.
To be fair losing to gophers used to get coaches fired. It happens, no need to freak out.
Honestly I wasn't surprised by the loss to Maryland. I think we're bad enough this year that Illinois is our only conference win.
Did I freak out? I will always hope the Gophers do well but I have stopped caring if they don't. Rooting for a team for 40 years that has absolutely sucked, I just can't do it anymore. Football is the only sport where I feel this way... I love Gopher hockey and always will...
It's a little annoying to watch so many gopher fans throw in the towel after a loss to Maryland. I dont think anyone expected us to compete for B1G this year. And while I'm as frustrated as any MN fan of "Next year, or look to future" that's the process with new HC. Maryland was much faster than we were, has highly rated recruits on their OL. They've been acquiring top 20 classes. Everyone knocks them for being on their 3 string QB, he was a scholarship player that was recruited whose probably better than Rhoda, 3rd string or not. We're a limited team, but we should be competitive MOST games..
I wouldn't go that far. We played a terrible game and lost by 7
This has the makings of 6 win team though, about what I expected. We're starting former walk on as QB for god sakes and I'm not sure starter for next year is on the roster yet
Need to stop just RUTM every god damn first down, especially if Rhoda isn't going to keep on the read option.

Were the Gophers not favored by 13 against Maryland? To me that means expectations were there and the Gophers as usual fell flat on their faces... like they always do...
any word on Winfield's injury? That was a blow.
They were. Maryland also beat Texas earlier, while Texas isn't that good, it's still better than any team MN beat. It happens. Loss stinks, but it's one loss in a season we were expected to be average at best.
My point is beat the teams you are suppose to beat, they didn't... Sorry man i'm tired, if the who gives a shit bowl is good enough for you thats great, it's not for me...
When they win, lolzzz what are you 9 years old. They don't win, ever! Have you not been paying attention?
No, I have been paying attention. I don't expect them to jump to B1G champs the first year of new coach. I believe we're on upswing with the investment in facilities, stadium, and now coach. I don't expect us to ever return to being blue blood program like we were in the 1920's and I try to keep my expectations as such. Losing to Maryland doesn't surprise me, we're an average team. We're going to lose a game or two this year we shouldn't have. Again, Maryland already beat Texas this year, and sure at 2-2 they're not looking great, they're better than any team we played. Maryland got killed by UCF too, I'm aware. But it's one game in a season I didn't expect much out of, so I'm not going to whine like a kid who didn't get right christmas present.
As life long MN fan, it is frustrating. I get it, I'm frustrated as well, but it's not like we just lost to an FCS team. At the end of the Maryland is a B1G team with B1G talent. Durbin has been recruiting at a higher level than MN the past few years and I think Maryland will be decent football program in time, they're stuck in the East, but still. I see MN taking a step back then hopefully making jump forward, ala Richard Pitino and the bball squad. If you want to write off coach after one loss, go ahead. I've accepted we essentially had to hit reset once again and some ups and downs will come with it
If they lose next week it would take a bigger upset than Iowa St. over Oklahoma for us to win a B1G game this season.
