Chad Reuter's 7 Round Mock:

Round 1 (30) Josh Jones, S, North Carolina State
Round 2 (62) Carl Lawson, OLB, Auburn
Round 3 (94) Tanoh Kpassagnon, DE, Villanova
Round 3 (105) Josh Reynolds, WR, Texas A&M
Round 4 (135) Rasul Douglas, CB, West Virginia
Round 5 (173) Ejuan Price, OLB, Pittsburgh
Round 6 (213) Chris Carson, RB, Oklahoma State
Round 7 (248) Anthony Walker, ILB, Northwestern

First and only CB is in the fourth round.

Interesting draft...I like it in many ways. I think he's a bit aggressive thinking Lawson will last to 62.

Speaking of his CB...that kid seems like a great value as a 4th rd pick. I think if he had more games under his belt he'd be a 2nd round guy.

A lot of people are connecting the dots with Kpassagon to PIT...for some reason I see CIN nabbing him if they go ILB early.

I'm still not sold on this kid being able to stay clean, but the fact they thought enough of him to bring him in for a visit...I'm looking at PIT taking Tim Williams at 30.

No Tim Williams!!!!!

I see that as a possibility too. I'm preparing myself for Williams/Peppers/Kizer. Not happy with any of them though.

Last night on the NFL Network they had a live mock draft with various network personalities making the picks. Ike Taylor picked for Pitt and took Peppers at 30 calling him the next Troy. I'm not so sure about that but we all know the Steelers love position flexibility so, I think if Peppers is there at 30 they'll take him.

Yeah and there's a lot of buzz about the Steelers loving Peppers too. I just don't like it. I don't think he has 3-down pass defense skills. He might be able to do a part-time nickel-linebacker type deal I guess on third down. Maybe. Just don't like it. The more I look at this board I'm hoping for an edge rusher at 30 then double up on DBs in the next two rounds.

To me Kizer would be a wasted pick at 30 for the Steelers. He's gonna sit for a while (at least 2 years and maybe 3 or 4) and there's no guarantee he can be the backup QB his rookie year. The Steelers should be in win now mode before Ben retires and you need your 1st rounder to at least contribute immediately if not start right away when you're in that mind set. Now if Kizer slips to round 3 or beyond, then maybe.

I agree. If Peppers falls to 62 (unlikely) they should take him in a heartbeat but otherwise improving the pass rush should be their 1st priority.

I don't really understand why there isn't a difference between a "dilute sample" & testing positive for a banned substance. Seems ass-backwards to me. Pissing a sample that contains a lot of water seems questionable, but if it contains a banned substance shouldn't it be viewed as far worse?

According to NFL.com... Based on the provisions of the NFL's policy and program for substances of abuse, "this will be treated like a positive test."

My guess is he falls to the 2nd Rd. Doubt very far.

I don't get it either since I think an actual positive test should be worse than a dilute sample too.

Right? Wouldn't they get the same result if they piss-tested an NFL player during or after a practice or game? Drinking a shit-ton of water & gatorade will produce the same "dilute sample".

I'd think so, yes.

So if that is indeed the case, then the entire league would "test positive" lol...
If that actually tested right after a practice or game most of them would.

Yep. I'm unaware of how the drug screening works for the NFL. But seems to me if the player pissed a dilute sample then they should make them piss again in an hour or so to get a more accurate result. Unless they think the player already flushed their system of any substances. IDK... Still seems like there's shit they could do to figure out how to define this "grey area" instead of blanketing it as a positive test and damaging the livelihood of these prospects. I know they'll still be makin a shit ton of money, but still.
