Mr. Roberts and Mr. Hampton, I think these are two fine, fine linebackers.

Roberts is definitely a middle linebacker and Hampton is outside. Not sure of their official speeds but in the videos Hampton looks a lot faster than Roberts. Roberts seems to be one of those linebackers that has a nose for the football. David had it. Kuechly had it. Speilman had it. Fitzgerald had it. I love those linebackers.

Old 1970s comparisons

Willie Hampton = Willie Harper
Avery Roberts = Jerry Murtaugh

Now, just need to find a Rich Glover, Larry Jacobson, and John Dutton. Maybe the Davises can fill that part.

Can't really make any DB comparisons, but Nebraska has a bunch of good recruits in the last two years.

Looks like the Blackshirts might be coming back if John Parrella can find some bodies. At least he knows the Nebraska history since he was part of it and can talk the talk and walk the walk about the NFL.

BTW, the 1971 team had one player from Texas and TEN from California.

Banker is a huge question mark... I'm hearing good things about the defense for next fall but it all needs to come to fruition in games. Lots of young talent and the scheme isn't new anymore. Regardless of what McMullen says about Banker's interpersonal skills, he knows his Xs and Os

I was pleased with our Defense down the stretch last year.

I thought it looked like the Front 7 knew what they were doing all season long. Like.....you know......someone was actually coaching them.

Our Defense was constantly put it bad spots last year by Two Picks.

The Secondary didn't handle it well but improved in the latter parts of the season.

This is one of the positives with TA, our defense gets double game reps vs just having some average dude at QB managing the game clock or whatever they do idk for certain
