I dunno if K-Rod's "smoke & mirrors" act can last another full season. 2016 was the first season of his career where he had fewer strikeouts than innings pitched. His fastball barely touches 90 ... on a GOOD day with a strong wind at his back. His changeup is superb, but now it's only 6-8 MPH off his fastball. Smart hitters can go up there looking for the change-piece and still catch up with the odd fastball and foul it off.

I hope we don't need him, but Jimenez could easily be called up by June 1.

That was my forte in high school basketball ... I could beat everyone on the team in wind sprints. Too bad the sport also required dribbling and shooting ability.
