It's going to be so funny how Indians find a way to screw up ....after last year choke job.... can't wait

Well, if they're lucky enough to make it to the World Series, I just hope they play well enough to not embarrass the AL Central like those shitbird Tigers and Verlander did the last two times they made it there. 1-8. lolz

Really just the World Series, not all "playoffs".

Overall 7-5, 3.39 in the postseason.

0-3, 7.20 ERA in the World Series.

7-2, 2.72 ERA in the ALDS/ALCS.

But, point taken. He hasn't done well on the biggest stage, which is the World Series. His first two appearances, however, were in his rookie season.

No, it's pretty much the playoffs as a whole.

He appeared in eleven series and has a 5+ ERA in seven of those.

Take out the two starts against the A's in the ALDS and he's got an ERA of nearly 5 in the postseason.

So the entire 2013 postseason doesn't count, but the three series in his rookie season do.

Okay.

Here, Howie. In case you missed it.
Seriously though, if you look at Verlander's performances in the postseason, incredibly, the outliers aren't the series in which he got is little raisin balls stomped on, they're the one's in which he pitched well.

He's pitched in eleven postseason series and had an ERA above 5.00 in seven of them.

Hell, the real outlier is the 2013 ALDS when he held a weak-hitting A's lineup scoreless in two starts. You want to talk about taking away outliers, take those 15 innings out of his postseason number and he's got a 4.00 playoff ERA.

When you actually look at the numbers instead of crunching them, can you believe what a sackless twat Verlander really is, @dougplayer?

What the fuck are you talking about, Howie?

Two games wasn't the entire 2013 postseason.

His overall ERA was also helped by the 8.1 IP/1 ER game against the Yankees in the 2013 ALCS, so I included that. Sorry to misrepresent your statement.

Point is, those three games counted as much toward his overall playoff ERA as the three games in 2006, which put a dent in it.

Sorry, I did not read back that far.

Why is 2013 ALDS an "outlier" while four games in his rookie season is not?

If you're looking at what he's done by series, the the series with an ERA of 0.00 is much more out of place than series in which he's got 5+ ERAs.

Verlander's 11 Post Season Series ERAs:

2006 ALDS - 5.06
2006 ALCS - 6.75
2006 WS - 5.73
2011 ALDS - 5.00
2011 ALCS - 5.56

2012 ALDS - 0.56
2012 ALCS - 1.08
2012 WS - 11.25
2013 ALDS - 0.00
2013 ALCS - 1.13
2014 ALDS - 5.40

He's been fucking horrible in two thirds of his playoff games. Not so-so, fucking horrible.

Even if you completely remove his rookie year, he's shit the bed in as many postseason games as he didn't. Given his reputation, I would expect a LOT more than that from him.

I certainly wish he was more Jack Morris-like in the postseason, particularly the World Series. We might be talking about an '06 title then. (In 2012, the Tigers hit .154 for the entire series, so what Verlander did wasn't the biggest story.)

There is no discussion. The Cleveland Indians will win the division. First the Cavs, then the Indians and finally the Browns who will definitely win Super Bowl 100 in the 2066 season.

Nelson Cruz faced the Rays and Cards in 11 games that postseason and he slashed .150/.244/.300/.544 against them. He only knocked the shit out of the ball against Verlander and the Tigers because they suck balls.

Rumors popping up of Verlander going to Yankees to replace Tanaka and Sabathia, who are on DL. I am sure "Cruncher" has an opinion on that. He always keeps up with Tiger news. LOL

Verlander doing it longer. Wheels ready to fall off on kluber. You watch. Verlander iron horse. Like gherig.

what Verlander did in 06-12 has zero relevance now, especially considering his skills have deteriorated.

Seven Florida players suspended for the opener against Michigan. The fix is already in for Jimbo.
