Iffy cares..if ESPN says he should. Slinky likes numbers. Unless they don't show Indians in a good light.
I like to crunch ALL the numbers. To get the big pitcher.

Verlander ranks 54th among qualified starting pitchers in xFIP behind aces such as Ty Blach, Lance Lynn, Mike Foltynewicz and JC Ramirez.

A lot of Tigers have under-performed ... that is why we are shitty this year. But thanks for letting us know. I am no longer worried about Cleveland, Kansas City or Minnesota (we don't have a chance).

Man. He sucks. Not as badly as Miggy, though.

Wait a minute you nonstop bullshit artist. You said 2017 was gonna be the Tigers year. What happened to all the heart they supposedly have? And how many seasons in a row will you claim that next year will be the Tigers year?

Kluber: 20 games / 11-3 / 2.71 ERA / 192 K's
Verlander: 24 games / 8-7 / 3.97 ERA / 142 K's

Nothing wrong with Verlander (one of the few), he had some bad outing against the Indians, but I guess those count. Comparing him to Kluber this year is foolish ... Kluber is going to win the Cy Young (for the record I hate Chris Sale).

Doug is hoping and praying for a Maginot Line version of the AL Central. You see..the Tigers will lay in the weeds until the final week of the season, go undefeated and ALL other teams will lose.

Speaking of crunching numbers - I took a look at the Indians' starters over the last ten games...

10 GS ~ 72 IP ~ 7.2 IP/GS ~ 92 Ks - 11.5 K/9 ~ 5.41 K/BB ~ 0.889 WHIP ~ 1.75 ERA

That's fucking filthy.

Once again there you go (as usual) completely ignoring the fact that it was yer boy doug that start the Kluber/Verlander stuff this season.

doug said the other day he's confident the Tigers will have the ALc wrapped up by the 2nd week of October.

I wouldn't go that far. Verlander has been great over his last seven starts, but prior to that he carried a 4.96 ERA through 17 starts.

Since Kluber's first full year as a starter (2014), there really isn't much comparison to Verlander.

JV - 110 GS ~ 712.0 IP ~ 6.5 IP/GS ~ 668 Ks ~ 8.44 K/9 ~ 3.08 K/BB ~ 1.205 WHIP ~ 3.73 ERA ~ 110 ERA+

CK - 118 GS ~ 812.1 IP ~ 6.9 IP/GS ~ 933 Ks ~ 10.34 K/9 ~ 5.10 K/BB ~ 1.041 WHIP ~ 2.96 ERA ~ 146 ERA+

Verlander's been pretty good over the last four seasons, but his days of comparing to the elite pitchers in baseball are largely over.
