Flounder is the way to put it. Perhaps Dipoto needs to quietly execute his plan rather than publicly announcing them like his 10 year plan or 54% bullshit. For a while, the A's and Rays were master at executing their rebuild plans despite the payroll and now we're quietly seeing the Tigers and Royals. The fact of the is, 1 playoffs appearance in 23 years is unacceptable.

1000% it is unacceptable but Seattle is too nice of an area. In real media markets the reporters would be so much more combative. The Royals and Braves are like the M’s where they’ve never gone all in with payroll but still have fan support regardless. Just difference is they have always capitalized when they have a window, the Mariners don’t.

I dont think the M’s could ever become the A’s or Rays cause fans will still show up no matter what.

The Tigers have actually gone all in in the past with payroll plus much like the Astros they had sustained failure where they had multiple top picks.
