They only had a three game lead on the Tigers at this point last season and they came out of the All-Star Break playing .500 ball up to this point (compared to .588 this year), but somehow you had some mystical tickle in yer britches last year that you don't know.

I'm not sure what more to say other than to tip my cap to the Miss Cleo of Indians fans.

We will see where they stand after these next 14 games before they head into a serious @KC on the 18th. I'm not making any definite predictions but i'm also not going to be a sunshine pumper and say "all is well"

If you want to bring up run differential they have the 3rd best in baseball.

.250/.317/.416/.733 as a team post break and this is the time to put up or shut up, right?

They're currently working on losing 2 of three to the shit pile Tigers. We lose two to a very strong Red Sox team and we're now fucked. . .

Silliness.

I wouldn't say "all is well" with any lead at this point, but if I had to pick which team was going to win a division, one with a -6 run diff, or one with a +95 run diff and a 2-game lead, I know which one I'm taking every fucking time.

The division is shit, which is my main point of frustration with only being up 2 games at this point. 3 games is the largest lead in the division they've reached up to this point. Obviously expectations are a BIT higher this year than they were last year so i'd say comparisons to last year are not really relevant.

The simple fact that they are +101 in run differential over the 2nd place team and only +2 in games is a bit concerning.

Guess how many closers in MLB have more saves and fewer blown saves than Cody Allen.

I'll give you a hint: it's the same number of wins Justin Verlander has since May 21st.

The Tigers aren't your problem ... but I see where you're going. I kinda don't like the Red Sox, so if you guys can lay an ass whoopin' on those turds, I would appreciate it!!

That's fair. It is a pretty weak division and I would like to see them with a bigger lead than they have. Tough to do when I guess when the team chasing them reels of a 10-game win streak.

Obviously expectations are a BIT higher this year than they were last year so i'd say comparisons to last year are not really relevant.

See, I think that's bullshit. Expectations are only higher for you because of an unlikely playoff run last year. An objective fan would see some real similarities between last year and this year and it's absolutely relevant to this discussion. They might not be the best team in the league, but they're certainly the best in the division and among the top in the league. At this point, it's more likely than not that they'll win the division, and once in the playoffs, anything can happen, just like last year.

The simple fact that they are +101 in run differential over the 2nd place team and only +2 in games is a bit concerning.

That should be bit comforting, not concerning.

Just saw that, too. Yeah, hopefully it's not too serious.

Tomlin is out six weeks too, I heard.

I still think not going after like a decent #4 type starter in a trade was a mistake

They didnt need to get a Sonny Gray or a Yu Darvish. A Jamie Garcia or a Trevor Cahill (who costed pretty much peanuts) type, who arent going to light the world on fire but can provide at least some decent innings. Ryan Merritt is pretty much our only somewhat legit insurance option in AAA if someone else happens goes down.

Yep. Tigers going into NY.. school yankees. Rain delay in game 3. Zimmy in the zone.

Indians will find some excuse when yankees whip on them. Iffy the clown show thinks Indian losing streak is not real

I wonder if @dougplayer has found out more information about the ''real masher'' the Tigers got in that deadline trade?

When you're retarded it's easy to play make believe

Doug's version of this is make believing that a guy who is a .270 career hitter in the minors with 68 HR in 2,720 ABs in said minors is a "real masher"

Real masher

That's OK doug. No one expected you to explain your ''real masher'' comment. We all know that you don't follow baseball news or know much about MLB. It is pretty obvious. :)
