Yep. Sadly they couldn't push it to ten wins. I guess nine straight will have to do. By the way, nine wins is nearly the amount of wins the Tigers earned in the entire month of July.

Yep, Ausmus cost the Tigers a sweep with that Rondon move. Everyone except Kirk Gibson questioned using Rondon in that situation, after he'd put up two crappy outings in a row. Gibson said it made sense to try and let Rondon get back up on the horse (poor horse!) Guess that's why Gibson is no longer a big-league manager.
