Good baseball by Dyson. Bunting, with Castellanos at 3B and Miggy at 1B, should be something every team does at least twice a game. Verlander ran out of gas.........

I'd bunt at Nick all night. And let him know I'm doing it.

It'd depend on the pitcher if I bunt towards first. JV being the guy I'd target covering the least. He's an excellent defensive player imo. Always hustles to his spots.


Never understood why teams didn't bunt at Miggy more when he played third. Guy that big is almost always going to struggle coming in and making quick plays.

Verlander was also screwed by some poor defense in the 6th. The usually-reliable Iglesias overruns a pop fly down the left field line and it drops. And the double by Cruz -- not saying Upton should have caught it, but a better left fielder probably does.

All I know is that while Justin Verlander was sipping foo-foo umbrella drinks by a pool in Malibu with his tiddy model during the offseason, Corey Kluber was killing wild coyotes with his fastball in the harsh New England winter.

Verlander still has the ability to pitch well, but I think Wahoo hit the nail on the head just using the eye test. I haven't researched it in great detail to ponder it more stringently, however. He's always been prone to some meathead pitching, imo.
