New as in with a roof added, right?

It's not a brand new court, is it? They didn't re-name the old Grandstand to something else, right?

No there is no roof. This is a brand new court. First match ever take place tomorrow.

As for the old grandstand I noticed on the schedule of play it is listed as old grandstand/p6 (whatever that means)

Men's Draw:

Djokovic's Quarter:

* Isner will probably lose to Gasquet in straight sets in the 3rd round. Hope for the best, though.

* Tsonga vs. Kevin Anderson 4th round is dangerous. US Open has been Tsonga's worst major so far. I'll pick Kevin Anderson in 4, outside of Wimbledon and the Monte Carlo Masters, Tsonga hasn't done very well this year.

* Cilic vs. Sock 4th round. It's the US Open, there's usually a good American story, and Cilic has had a lot of highs and lows the past few months. Sock wins in 5.

* Djokovic vs. Sock QF: Djokovic in 3.

Nadal's Quarter:

* Nadal vs. Raonic 4th round: Very tough call. Raonic has been pushing people for a few years, and getting some big wins.

Nadal can still summon a big win.

More signs point to Raonic IMO, especially given Nadal's wear and age, but I'll say Nadal with the 5 set win.

Wawrinka's Quarter:

* Can Wawrinka even get out of the 1st round vs. Verdasco? 50/50 match. Given his year, I wouldn't be surprised if he loses. It makes me sick to do this, but Verdasco in 3.

* Zverev over Verdasco 3rd round in 3.

* Del Potro vs. Zverev QF: Zverev is probably not ready to go the distance against Del Potro. If he wins, it has to be a short match IMO. The longer the match, the more it favors Del Potro because he is more capable of long 5 setters IMO. (Timewise). This assumes Zverev got past Tomic or Krygios in the 4th round, which would be a big win for Zverev.

Del Potro over Zverev in 3.

Murray's Quarter:

* LOL, Murray could get a tough one in Rosol in the 1st round. If Rosol has a good day, this could be a 5 setter where Murray starts off slow and loses the 1st set.

* Murray vs. Simon 3rd round: Don't know if Simon can beat Stephanek in the 1st round. But this is a match I would like watching. Murray should win in 3, but there's a small chance that if Simon is on, he can win too.

* Donald Young vs. Goffin 4th round: Would like to see Young beat Karlovic in the 3rd, and Goffin in the 4th. Small chance it could happen. Unlikely, but I'll pick it. Then I'll say Young over Goffin in 4.

* Djokovic vs. Nadal SF: Nadal has won 2/3 of their matchups at the USO, all in Finals. Djokovic probably wins in 4 due to Nadal's age and wear, but Nadal will have a small chance.

* Del Potro vs Murray SF: I have no idea. Del Potro is still a bit unknown, because he's just been coming back this year for a few months. I guess I'll pick Murray until Del Potro shows he can have another good tourney outside of the Olympics. Murray in 3.

Djokovic vs. Murray Finals: Murray has let me down too many times at the AO in recent years. Yes this is the USO, but Murray's 2nd serve keeps being more erratic.

Djokovic in 3.

Women's Draw:

Serena Williams wins her quarter.

Venus Williams wins her quarter. (Bacsinsky could be the biggest threat).

Keys vs. Wozniacki 4th round: I hope Wozniacki wins, but I think Keys will win in 2.

Keys vs. Muguruza QF: Keys wins because of the unpredictability factor.

Kerber vs. Kvitova 4th round: Very dangerous match. Kerber in 3.

Serena vs. Venus SF: Venus will get my hopes up of seeing her win another major. I especially would like to see her win another one outside of Wimbledon too, to give her a more balanced major win total. But Wimbledon was a reminder of how far she went, yet still how hard it is for Venus.

Venus will have a chance, but most likely outcome is Serena in 3.

Keys vs. Kerber SF: I have no idea. This would be Keys best run at a major. Can she beat a champion here? Sure. She has to make a good run at some point. I'll say she wins in 2, although I'd root for Kerber.

Serena vs. Keys Finals: Easy 2 set win for Serena.

I have tickets for Saturday Night and Sunday of Labor Day Weekend on Ashe. I think I will sell the Saturday Night ones.

I did the same for Indian Wells this year.

I wont be going this year. I need the time to practice for Nationals. Just by coincidence they are being held in Indian Wells / Palm Desert right after the US open concludes. I will certainly be watching the night sessions though on my off nights.

Novak does not look great. Not the typical straight forward 1st round. 1st set was a battle and now we're on serve 10 games into the 2nd set

Nice win by Isner after being down 0 - 2 sets.

He's not good in long matches in general, and he's not good at coming back when down, and he did both.

Crowd was rooting for fellow American Tiafoe.

Feliciano Lopez vs Borna Coric is the best first round match.
