You're sure though one of the years you attended, you saw Federer, right?
there's no way I would have that year, he got knocked out in the 4th round by Agassi. Maybe it was the year before that we saw him play? Damn, I can't remember anymore.

What was your (anyone who has attended) favorite live day of attending the US Open, ever, and what matches stood out that day?
the thing I love about tennis matches is that there is tennis EVERYWHERE! You can jump from court to court and watch up and coming players or some vets on side courts.

One thing that stood out was how crowded the Grandstand was when Kounikova was playing. She was a babe.

So that means there's 4 courts total which have singles matches, right? Two of which require reserved seating and are excluded from grounds pass (Arthur Ashe Stadium; Louis Armstrong Stadium).

And 2 courts which are included in grounds passes, right? (Grandstand and Courts 4 - 17, whatever courts the matches are scheduled on).

Just trying to make sure I understand the setup.

I always preferred the Thur and Friday before Labor day. Friday is crazy. Might be over 60k people in there. Especially when the sessions are turning over from day to night. My guess is they are way over the safety capacity level for the grounds.

Next year once I remember ahead of time, I'll probably take the day off and attend on the Friday

Grandstand is the best court to me. At least the old grand stand was. I loved the setup there. You're almost on top of the players. Its amazing.

And yes that's why I think Tennis events is the only sporting event where you get much more than what you paid for. You can spend $70 or $80 and spend 6 or 7 hours there seeing probably parts of 10 different matches. It is pretty amazing

Going to be my first time since 2013 that I'll not be attending the Open.

I'll be there this year. I planned it so myself and a couple of family members could see Federer at a major before he retires. Whoops!

my tennis coach would bring us up, usually on Labor Day weekend. We could cram into his conversion van and wait in the parking lot while he went and bought tickets from scalpers. He also taught us how to slip an usher $20 to move down to the lower seats in Arthur Ashe. It was a great time.

I did the same for Indian Wells this year.

Not the typical easy first 2 matches for Novak. He will be facing Janowicz & Vesely.

I fully expect Isner to be eliminated next week in the 3rd round by Gasquet.

Really sucks that our 2 young guns are facing our ranked Americans in round 1. Fritz is facing Sock while Tiafoe is facing Isner.

Looking at Sock draw, I'll take a 3rd round appearance as well. Losing to Cilic in round 3 is not bad.

Poor Stevie Johnson is likely done in round two against Delpotro.

Raonic vs Dustin Brown is an interesting 1st round match.

Dimitrov got a decent draw. Should make it to the 4th round.

Nadal with an absolute dream draw. Shame on him if he doesn't make to the QF with relative ease.

Looking like good weather for the first week of the Open. Roof may not be used for the first 5 days. Only possible chance I see is Wednesday night
