It was clear for some time he wasn't completely healthy.

It's time to punt on this season. Make sure no one gets super hurt for next year, get the young guys some experience, and audition the role players for next season.

I hope McCutchen stays hot through the end of the season. Anyway positive to end this season for him will be great.

Also for any folks that would complain it is a little too late, truthfully without Cole healthy, Liriano and Niese failing they really had no chance.

I am really looking forward to next year with a healthy Cole and Taillon at the top of that rotation.

Man it really stinks the Pirates lost all those games in a row. With the Mets health issues a pitcher and the Giants slumping they would have had a chance. Now it is just too late.

Well with the season over here comes the McCutchen rumors. By no means unless overwhelmed should they trade him. I truly don't think Meadows is ready unless they fill in 1B with something other than Bell and put him in the OF.

I can't see an overwhelming offer coming in for a player who hit .250 this year. Maybe an average offer but I agree that shouldn't be enough to move him.

Let him try to recover his value this year. If he does, you have good McCutchen for another year and his trade value jumps, and you get a chance to see Meadows for a full season in AAA and maybe a cup of coffee in the Majors to decide if he's ready to replace McCutchen before trading him. Either way, they need to find a way to hide Cutch defensively.

Totally agree.

Anyway I wonder if switching him with Marte in the OF would help? Not sure McCutchen could play LF but that is the one good thing the fact he has to plus OF's on both sides.
