I saw the Krook signing a few days ago and forgot to post about it. Signed for $500K, only $31,300 over the slot value. That's a huge break, IMO. I think we got a little hometown discount there.

The Giants move guys around in their roles in the minors, so you can never tell who will be doing what 4 years from now. For example, Russ Ortiz was a reliever in the minors at first. The season preceding his call-up he got his FIRST start in the minors, and mainly started after that.

So long as they don't go over their allocated bonus pool by more than 5% (somewhere around $150K this year), no big deal.
