When you have a tourney on home turf, you need to stack the deck in your favor and you do that by ensuring you play at all of the "homer" stadiums. This Seattle oversight is awful.

As long as Brazil does not lay an egg tomorrow, there is absolutely no reason why we should lose to Peru or Ecuador in Seattle. I'm fully expecting us to play in the Semi Finals against Argentina on June 21st.

Predictions? I have the US winning 2-1. I believe Ecuador scores first. Then gets too comfortable and the US ties it up followed by a late John Brooks header for the winner.

I like 2-0 or 2-1 maybe a little better. Goals by Wood and Dempsey maybe.

FIFA rankings are a really poor indicator of how good teams are. That said, Ecuador can be very dangerous, but the US should win this one.

Never said that you clown. It is why I don't take FIFA rankings seriously. They put too much into friendly matches when a ton of teams are trying out younger players and etc.

I never stated FIFA rankings are great. i never even said they meant much. I just posted it for reference because it honestly seemed like you didn't know anything about what you were saying and figured you would at least get that Equador is not horrible. Never once said Ecuador is horrible. The only teams left I would be ok with us losing to on our home soil in this tournament are Argentina, Columbia, Chile, & Mexico (only because it is not really a home game depending on where in the country it is played).

Never once said Ecuador is horrible. The only teams left I would be ok with us losing to on our home soil in this tournament are Argentina, Columbia, Chile, & Mexico (only because it is not really a home game depending on where in the country it is played).

Mexico (IMO only) is a much better team than us right now. Without Altidore we may struggle to score against better teams.

Tonight: I think we win, but I am worried about Equador's speed and think they have some very good players even if they have some weaker spots. Seattle should be a true HFA, but I just think we are a little closer talent wise than you do. Our strength has been our back 4 and I'm worried that with Yedlin out the cohesion we are developing could change a little. Also, his speed would have been great to have tonight. JMO

If this game were played in S. America (or Ecuador for that matter), we would be fairly heavy 'dogs. This game is virtually a coin flip on home soil. If we lose, I will not be surprised, but I will be disappointed. The US teams needs to start pushing deeper in major tourney's in order to play the best.

Round of 16 for the World Cup was fine IMO. Last year was disappointing. We should never not reach the finals in the Gold Cup. This year considering who we're playing, I think semi finals is a good goal
