The first half of the CFL season more than makes up for a beat or two in the playoffs.

There's light snow falling in Calgary this morning, but the forecast for the weekend (especially Sunday) looks pretty good:

Went to the Redblacks game with my dad, who grew up in Ottawa and could name basically every Roughrider who played between 1960 and 1975.... With his health I didn't know it was a good idea, but at least we were on the North side and weren't getting directly snowed on! Still pretty cold though, and we didn't have our full winter gear on!

Once Edmonton started scoring, it was a pretty exciting game. Not a big CFL fan but it will be fun in this city to see the Redblacks in the grey cup!

Congrats dash

Thanks Matty - It's been a tough couple of days for me as I essentially said farewell to my dad yesterday. I posted a couple of weeks ago that my dad had heart surgery and although he pulled through that okay, he contracted a post-operative infection and combined with some other factors, things look very grim. I've been up in Edmonton for the past couple of days with the rest of my family and we decided to change the focus of his treatment to more of a palliative care approach.

@Dacks, I think it's great that you took in the game yesterday with your dad, some of my fondest memories with my dad were attending sporting events. It's something I'm sure your dad really enjoyed.

Sorry to hear that. My mother's had issues with post-operation infections and it's like a gut-punch after thinking their recovery was going well. Terrible feeling.
