Harder is when she plays youngsters who are not in awe of her "legacy" and "intimidation".
Kerber is 28

Serena hasn't lost to a "youngster" in a slam final since 2004, and she rarely loses to "youngsters" in any round of a major at all.

Pretty clear you weren't exaggerating when you said you don't play tennis, and rarely keep up with it anymore. You prove it with every ignorant statement you make.

People like HS could learn a lot from the class that Serena showed in defeat.

They're blinded by irrational hatred, though. Go figure.
I bet it was real EASY for the Lil Miss Pompous to swallow the defeat and show her artificial and fake class in front of the world and cameras. ROTFL!!!

I ended up not going to sleep until about 7 am PST, so I think I'll up at 12:30 AM to watch the Nole/Murray final.

Hoping for a good one.

I think this one is going to go 4, with a Nole victory, but I hope I'm wrong.

The one good thing about living on the West Coast. Staying up/waking up 330 EST is really hard

Seriously, though, I stay with friends in Brooklyn every couple of years, and I love NYC. I even thought about moving there or to Boston, but it was never quite appealing enough to do it.

I live in Brooklyn
I love Brooklyn. My friends live in Carroll Gardens, and they're nice enough to let me stay there. First time I visited was in 2009, and then in 2010 I went to the US Open. Learned the train system real quick going through Manhattan and up and around to Queens.

I'm pretty sure this Spring will be the last time I get to visit them, though. They want to leave the city and raise their kid in a place where they can have a house and a car.

So the curse for the Rafa's conqueror chain remains. Raonic loses and his conqueror a tired Murray will tamely lose to Nole in straights!! That is poetic justice.

OT, but during the FED vs. Djokovic match, when FED was getting dusted the first 2 sets, I kept on hearing your voice in my head, saying how FED was choking against Djokovic. :(

I believe you said something similar during the recent GS encounters between them.

Australian open sets the bar for the least level of interest or importance among all the four slams. Just the fact that they can schedule the mens semis on different days gives us an indication of how jocular the proceedings are and the Djoker should be the most appropriate champion in keeping with its standards.

It's been my favorite slam to watch every year since 2012.

Especially the 2nd week.

I've just liked the matches a lot since then.

I thought it was real and that Serena was gracious.

Same after the 2015 USO.

One time when she wasn't as gracious was after losing to Henin during the 2007 USO. That was 8+ years ago though.

Raonic vs. Murray:

Raonic's returning was excellent in the first set, and he won the first set.

He struggled returning in the 2nd set and lost.

In the 3rd set, he got deep into Murray's service games 2 different games late in the 3rd, but couldn't break through. But then he played a superb tiebreaker to take the 3rd set.

His movement wasn't the same in the 4th and 5th, he got hurt, and he lost the match. Bummer, because he was playing really well.

Serena vs. Kerber:

Not since playing Davenport at the 2005 AO Finals have I seen a Finals involving Serena in which an opponent played well from the start of the match. Kerber's returning was great and she was getting a lot of low balls near the net which would push Serena off the court.

Other opponents have taken Serena to 3 sets in Finals, but they'd make a late push in a set to win the set. Whereas this time, Kerber played great and broke Serena from the start of the match, and was getting into Serena's service games.

Serena didn't serve her best either, and struggled getting aces and making first serves at key moments.

Stosur also didn't play as great from the start of the match IMO when she beat Serena in the 2011 USO Finals, she used late pushes late in the set. I was impressed with how well Kerber played from the beginning against Serena. She didn't show nerves or need to feel her way into the match.

She also broke Serena a lot, especially in the 3rd. 3 times.

Serena didn't look like she lost half a step. Pure poppycock. She was just a bit more volatile than usual.

Now, On to the "real tennis" finals...

 On to real tennis fans. Of course as you said she was going to have senior moments and be beaten by Kerber after she has dominated without dropping a set including shellacking Sharapova and Radwanska and she herself proclaiming before the match with Kerber that she was playing even better than last year. "Who would have thought she would be beaten by Kerber?" Yep, "real tennis fans" are always right in their predictions. Unbelievable.

Murray just isn't as good, mentally, as the other top players, and Djokavic is the worst opponent fif him because of that. Djokavic will just sit back and be tough and rock solid and 'coast' to a championship while Murray is trying, over trying, etc his heart out and letting it slip away.

Don't know if I can stay up for the 3rd just to watch Murray blow more chsnces and 'tank' like he does where he purposefully goes flat footed and just starts arming the ball.

Murray just could not do enough. Although running out of challenges in the second set cost him. Nole was given an Ace on a second serve that was clearly out. At least I think he was out of challenges. I was half asleep by then.
