I heard an interesting stat on a podcast today. (someone on here will like it) I may screw it up the details -- but you get the idea. (I checked a couple of these -- seemed right.)

There are 3 teams in the last 30 years who have won an NBA Championship -- but their defense was ranked outside the Top 10. (not sure of which ranking ... maybe points / possession?) It was the Lakers twice (2001 was one year) -- and Rockets (2nd year of Hakeem's back-to-back).

All 3 previous teams were coming off a championship -- had a weak year on defense when they were defending champs -- but ended up turning the switch in the playoffs and won a back-to-back.

We all know the Cavs have been really bad on defense this year.
