I think the Clips finish as the 5 seed. But even a 4 seed is too low for the roster they have, imo.

I sort of agree. I thought their ceiling was the 2 seed(if healthy) but I did not see the Spurs going 47-13 in their first 60 games. Thought they would fall back a little bit but I was wrong.

I'm not trying to bash the Clips either. I actually don't care enough about them to bash them. This has been going on with that franchise for their entire existence. Injuries, bad decisions (both personnel and location), choking, it's pretty remarkable how they just can't get out of their own way.

I remember when they relocated from San Diego. They went to the LA Sports Arena (which was a shithole). Meanwhile, Orange County wanted them bad and was building an nice venue in Anaheim. The Clippers used to play a few games there every year and always sold out. Even when they sucked. It would have been a much shorter drive for their San Diego fans too.

They could have had Orange County, more or less all to themselves (the Lakers still cut a pretty wide swath) and chose to go to the Staples Center and play 2nd fiddle to the Lakers instead. Even when the Lakers suck, no one talks about the Clippers. They all talk about what's wrong with the Lakers (even on the Clippers flagship station KLAC). :L

^^^THIS from the Cavs fan...:tsk:
its a GOOD thing man....the difference between being 3rd and 4th in the lotto is the diffrence between a top 3 pick in a loaded draft AND another 1st rounder to ORlando OR getting nothing....i cant ever remember a scenario like that where so much was on the line for a team thats tanking.

if there is one thing the Lakers organization seems to be good at - Tanking sure seems to be it!!! congrats!

But the Cavs have never tanked before right?

Well if you want to pretend the '02-'03 season never happened.

NOW THAT IS SOME FREAKING HISTORY----- A combination of LeBron's greatness, David Griffin's great work as a GM to bring talent around LeBron, DAn G's willingness to pay for it- and of course- a bunch of execution from the players,

At the conclusion of Friday night's slate of games, there will have been 44,520 regular-season and playoff games played in the 3-point era, according to ESPN Stats & Info, and the only team to have made 25 3-pointers in a game is the Cavs -- twice in the past 10 months and both times against Atlanta.

Cavs have DEFINITELY tanked and it worked out phenomenally! If I was the Lakers i wouldnt win another game this season. When the difference is losing 2 first rounders- or keeping 2 first rounders- i think the questions is very easy. I cant remember a time where stakes have been higher for a lotto team.

Remember when GOlden State tanked to keep the pick that became Harrison Barnes? it happens all the time in t he league. No team is immune.

LeBron James and Kyrie Irving played extended minutes on Friday in a close win over the Hawks, which may lead to coach Ty Lue limiting their playing time Saturday in Miami.

LeBron played 39 minutes on Friday night and is averaging 37.6 minutes per game this season, second-most in the league. Last month, Lue stated he would make limiting LeBron's playing time a priority, but he hasn't accomplished that task. With Saturday being the second game of a back-to-back, Lue will likely try to keep LeBron at or below 35 minutes and may play Deron Williams a bit more to give Irving some additional rest.

Why even write/say this nonsense?

Cavaliers set NBA single-game mark with 25 3s

ATLANTA -- The Cleveland Cavaliers set a record for single-game 3-point supremacy in Friday's 135-130 win over the Atlanta Hawks. The Cavs connected on 25 triples, the most ever in a regular-season game since the 3-point line was introduced in the 1979-80 season.

"It's great to be a part of a record-setting night, and it's even better that Kyle was the one to hit the record back in the building that he played so many seasons in," said LeBron James, who led Cleveland from the outside, hitting 6-for-10 from 3. "So it's a special night."

Korver said he was unaware that his 3 with 1:17 remaining, which gave Cleveland a four-point lead, was the one that set the mark.

"I did not know that," Korver said. "That was a new record? That's interesting, I didn't know that. I know we made a lot of 3s. It felt like for a while it was great basketball. Drive, kick, swing, swing, good shots."

The Cavaliers made seven 3-pointers in each of the first three quarters and four in the fourth, finishing 25-for-46 (54.3 percent).

They were one bad call away from POSSIBLY losing.
I hope they launch that many 3's tonight.

LeBron doesn't want to be 0 for3 years in Miami since he's left.
They come here again 2nd last game of the season where chances are there's no chance he plays in that one.

I know, in reality it means nothing, but I'm pretty certain it's a thorn up his ass.

I expect him to come out HARD like he always does here, then hope his posse doesn't lay an egg like it has the past 2 seasons.

dude...that is really NBA history cmon. 25 three pointers, an NBA record...no team in over 44,000 NBA games has ever hit 25 three's in an NBA regular season game before last night. No team had ever hit 25 three's in a post season game until the Cavs did it against the Hawks last spring.

That is freaking crazy...2 hit 25 three's within a ten month period against hte SAME team.

Why are you so nuts about stats? Especially useless ones like that? They could make 50 three-pointers but at the end of the day a W is a W and a L is a L.

Stats are only meaningful if they're: A) Consistent or B) Once in a lifetime "holy shit* moments - which this one wasn't.

Exactly.
Bottom line is during all of that, the Hawks caught up and made James/Kyrie play a TON of minutes, to where apparently they might not play tonight.

Cleveland Cavaliers +1 -110
Miami Heat -1

You might be correct.
Heat are favored.
they of course have them home and home on Monday- but after that they DO have tue. and wed. off....so i dunno. itll be interesting to see....

the only problem is after that starting thurs its 3 games in 4 days again. I would say next Saturday or Sunday is a prime candidate for a rest day as well.
