this kind of crap is why i dont bet on the nba finals when there is snow on the ground.

what a bummer. Hopefully we get some good news today and like Love and JR- Durant is able to come back at some point.

no matter how good you are- no matter how stacked your team is- you need luck to win an NBA Finals.

Also, its a frickin avi bet.

Really ? You know the Warriors traded him away -- right ?

Do you really think the W fans would boo him because he left when the Ws dumped him to pick up KD ?

It isn't quite the same thing as KD leaving OKC.

But wasn't the fundamental criticism of Durant was that he wasn't a competitor by joining the team that just beat him? Bogut is a free agent now and he can choose any team. Understandably, he doesn't want to go back to the Warriors, but wouldn't he be a greater competitor and taking on a greater challenge if he signed with Boston or Houston?

dude has played in 26 game this year and has a bum knee....andrew bogut is not exactly moving the needle at this point. lol.

he is a nice backup bench big- but he is far from a top 3 player in the game---- and i cant blame him if he wants revenge- of course the warriors do what they could do to sign durant- but they got rid of bogut- a guy that was there long before the team started being a good team- and they send him away after getting to 2 straight finals

of course he will want some revenge.

But the question remains. Would Bogut be a greater competitor if he joined Boston or Houston? He could get revenge on both the Cavs and Warriors as a Celtic or Rocket.

like i said- you think bogut moves the needle significantly? a guy towards the back end of his career - after getting traded twie and getting bought out

IS A LITTLE different in my book then abandoning the team that was up 3-1 and going to join the team that just stole your lunch money.....thats just me though.

what time do you think we will have more info on durant?

I wrote them off after game 4. Most people did. Their Finals victory was definitely historic and I think it helped Lebron redeem himself in the eyes of a lot of basketball fans. I'm still not sure how they pulled it off. Yeah -- Lebron really is that damn good. I'll even add -- I'm writing them off again this year . . . already. If he's able to lead them to another championship, that's incredible. I don't know how anyone could knock the guy if he wins it again, especially if Golden State is healthy and the Cavs still beat them.

Yeah, I pretty much jinxed the Warriors, didn't I?

He did stay in the game last night for a couple of trips up/down the court. Then they pulled him.

Now, I remember Bynum getting this same injury, and they kept saying that he would come back in the playoffs, until they finally announced that he was done for the year. Now, KD isn't as brittle as Bynum, so hopefully they get him back in the playoffs, but it seems as if it's not looking too good at the moment

Durant is gonna be out for the year. If he were ok or its just minor, there's little reason to me for them to announce the results on Wednesday when some officials already know them. This fucking sucks. Damn it, Gortat.

You should be much more upset at Zaza going down like sack of potatoes trying to draw a foul. That kind of pushing/positioning happens on every rebound.

Not at all. Bogut's career at this point is playing (at most) 10-15 min / game as a deep backup. He was pushed out by Ws -- who have been favored all year to win it. Supposedly Bogut was looking at the best situation to get another contract this coming off-season. (no one could blame him for that) I'm not sure why Cavs situation helps him more than Rockets or Boston.

I think his role could be more clear with Cavs -- with Boston, he could have got stuck behind Amir & Olynyk -- and Rockets behind Capella & Nene. For Cavs, he may get 10-15 min backing up TT. (which would go down when Love comes back) If the Cavs play Raptors -- I'd be surprised if he didn't have solid role guarding JV -- or Hawks with Dwight. (still only a few minutes / game -- but Bogut could do a better job in low post than TT)

He was able to sign this past off-season for $11M -- I'd be shocked if he gets anything close to that in future.

So, I spent most of this thread whining about Popovich giving away games by resting players/
OR the SPURS sleepwalking through losses to bad team because of dis-interest.

The assumption was that they were locked into the #2 seed on both counts.
And I guess it did make sense if you step away from fan emotion wanting to win every game.

But, I will be so pissed if San Antonio finishes 1 or 2 games back now for HCA.....those losses might actually matter.

Welp, like I said they kept saying that Bynum would be back for the playoffs, then it was he'll be back for the 2nd round, and they did it all the way to the Finals until they said he's done for the year. Hopefully KD makes it back, but it seems as if they don't really have a set timetable just like the lakers did with Bynum
