of course you get durant 10 times out of 10 giving up Barnes and Bogut and whoever else....especially since they were able to keep Iggy and Livingston.

Where the Warriors are going to run into problems is next year becuase if they sign both Curry and Durant to maxes- they have pretty much nothing to retain or sign free agents for anything but the minimum- besides 1 guy to the mini-mid level - which is extremely small (the Cavs used theirs on RJ).

literally- the Warriors bench next year is probably going to look abysmal. They wont even have Bird Rights on Livingston or Iggy since they need to renounce both to make the cap room necessary to resign Durant.

The Cavs next year will still have practically their entire roster if they decide to use Bird Rights to resign Korver- which i think they will- the Warriors will be dumpster diving for guys from 5-15 on their roster.

Considering the pressure on Durant- they have more urgency to win it this year then even the Cavs do considering i do not see how it is possible there roster next year will be as good as there roster this year.

I agree with this, but how is it any different then the Heat Big 3, year 1, except the Warriors have 4?

They'll find vets like West who just want to win, then always find additions after buyouts/trade deadline.

I read a rumor about 2 weeks ago that the Suns made a big effort to bring Cousins to Phoenix to play with Bledsoe and Booker- in a deal that got them FAR more than the Pels offered....that is strange isnt it?

I saw Warren, Len and at leaest 2 first rounders....the Suns first rounder being much better than the Pels obviously...strrange

Didn't I predict that if any big trade went down , that it would not be one that was circling the rumor mill pre-all star break?

its not any different- however- i think the one big difference is that- guys will be foregoing a LOT more cash. Back then expiring contracts meant something because no one had cap space. If you were a vet. it was a lot more palatable to pass up- maybe 4-5 million, and sign a 2M dollar vet minimum contract while passing up say 6-7 million a year- ESPECIALLY sicne likely only bad teams had money to signt hem

Now- if you are a vet that has any value- you will likely be foregoing a LOT more than that- and ikely a decent chance to be competitive elsewhere. Is it possible that a few guys here or there will take less? absolutely. Is it even less likely then it was for the Heat? absolutely.and who did it for the Heat? what role player took a bunch less cash?

they should have indexed the mini-mid level to grow with the cap - instead now its barely bigger than the vet. minimum- which is a mistake. I think the mini mid level does go up a little bit next year though so that is at least one bullet- even if it is a small caliber bullet.

True, but if you are bought out at this time of the season, you have already earned the bulk of the seasons contract so its no big loss in comparison to a hopeful chance to play for a title.

Ray Allen, Mike Miller, Rashard Lewis

Allen even turned down 12 mil from the Celts, to play for Miami at the mid-level exception of 3 mil

And lewis signed for 2.6 mil

3 team trade between Cavaliers, Kings and Knicks is complete:

Cavaliers get: Carmelo Anthony

Knicks get: Rudy Gay and Anthony Tolliver

Kings get: Shumpert, Frye, Jefferson

juuuuuuuuuuuuuuust kidding.... lol....though that is the rumor the Cavs are trying to work on.

Pretty positive.

At that time literally everyone wanted to play with LeBron, they were getting everyone for dirt cheap.

No clue where Iggy is coming from

You're starting to see why most are not fans of Wiggy? But yeah veterans for begging to come to Miami and play with Bron, Wade, and CB

Well, just because he's an ABSOLUTE MORAN, doesn't make him a bad guy.

I still like Iggy

I don't think he's a bad guy. We just disagree when it comes to basketball.

the Knick should take a shot on Rubio.....that deal would actually make a little more sense.

a 3 way trade between the Twolves, Knicks and Cavs- where Melo goes to Cleveland, Shumpert and Frye go to Minne, and Rubio, Muhammed, cap flotsam go to NYK actually makes some sense to me.
