that is a poor job by their front office.

its not a surprise though. There is no leverage trading big men right now. Its all that is avaliable. Look at all the trades that have been made, practically everyone moving thus far is a big man
.

there is a paucity of guards and wings on the market right now that is for sure.

no one (smartly) values the center position nearly as much as they used to in the NBA.

Could've sworn this is what I said at the beginning of the year. 76ers are loaded at the 4 and 5. Have shit for the 1-3.

really? they beat Charlotte?

stop the presses. this fucking changes everything. They are 21-34 with the 4th worst record in the league- were missing Embiid, Okafor, and ofc ourse Simmons-

but shit, they beat Charlotte?

plan the parade route right now.

I think you're missing the point.

You pumped up a never-ending amount of sunshine up the Hornets' ass saying they were going to make a big leap this upcoming season. One of your hot takes that turned out to be not even lukewarm.

its the case throughout the entire league

if u want a big man- they are out there---- if you want a guard or a wing- they are very tough to get.

agree...things can change rapidly

as for the HEat- it certainly looks like they can drop and that the win streak was a fluke when you follow it up with losses to the Sixers and Magic.

The 13 game winning streak is the leagues longest this season?
Very hard to accomplish.

Whats your definition of fluke?

I think the Sixers were in a tough position because in 3 straight drafts the best on the board at their pick was a big. Noel, then Embiid, then Okafor.

Could you imagine in the 2nd draft if someone said "we took a C last year -- let's not take Embiid at #3" ?

In hindsight -- I'm sure some will say Porzingis should have been taken instead of Okafor. But at the time, Okafor was the clear pick at #3. (Phil J got a lot of crap for taking Porz at #4 ... "a disgrace of the highest order") In that same draft, there were some teams that made Top 10 picks that so far aren't working out well -- Hezonja, Willie CS, Stanley Mudiay, Johnson & Kaminsky were the next 5 picks. (but then there was a run of good players -- Winslow, Turner, Booker)

I'd say Hinkie was OK with that at the time -- knowing that at some point he'd turn 1-2 of them into other assets.

It could work our for Sixers anyhow -- if they end up with 2 picks out of top 6 or 7 in the upcoming draft -- they could take Fultz/Ball -- then Jackson/Dennis Smith/Monk. Then they have their young backcourt.

No. I've heard being consistently in the lottery is all that matters.
being in the lotto and being able to draft a potential star is MUCH better then being between 8th in the East and getting your teeth kicked in- or even worse, 9th or 10th.

Id say the WORST place to finish in the entire league is 9th or 10th in the East. It means you suck- but you dont suck bad enough to have a high likelihood at being able to draft a difference maker

it looks like thats exactly where Miami is headed.

Porzingis and Towns were by far the best players in the top 10 of that draft. Drafting anyone else at #3 besides Okafor wouldnt of made a huge difference.

Also you said it looks like Miami is heading for a finish between 8th and 10th in the East. What exactly are you basing this on? Yes they're currently 10th but 2 losses is the difference between Miami and 12th place Philly. And if you look at the standings out west, there's 8 teams with between 32 and 35 losses. Stop acting like it is set in stone that Miami is going to finish top 10 in the East. You don't go 11-30 by mistake

He's making the same mistakes over and over. Bulls barely missed the playoffs in '08, Heat had the worst record. Bulls selected no. 1 and Heat no. 2.

Guy is an idiot. On top of that, with the way he is talking you would think Miami is 35 games above the teams below them currently. As I just posted, there are 8 teams separated by 3 losses in the East and West. There is absolutely nothing set in stone

Whiteside is a joke- no one respects him even though he puts up huge stats because hes a joke. IF he is your 3rd or 4th guy- fine- but his a dipshit like his comments the other night are why hes not a leader.

I'm sure your opinion is unbiased.

Williams is nice for the Cavs because- he is a guy who can actually finish in the pick and roll. Most of the Cavs, especially the bench guys- are guys who are set shooters, or get jumpers off screens, or pullup...

TT is really the only guy that is a real "roller" in the pick and roll. Williams gives them another one and there is a need for it- and the best thing - its what he is best suited for- hes not a good outside shooter (hes actually a pretty bad 3 pt shooter), but hes athletic and can finish rolling to the rim- and playing with Bron and Kyrie with the spacing the other guys give him should really play into his skill set well.

Who doesn't respect Hassan? If you want to talk about dipshit comments, I would rank saying the rest of my team is trash after Kyrie and Love much higher.

This is what happens when you talk out of your ass.

Spo on Hassan comments from Monday.

If they weren’t getting frustrated then you have a problem and you have a lifeless group. I find that all born out of the right place.”

Guys get frustrated all the time. It's an 82 game season. It happens. You choose to see and hear what you want.

This Cavs game is everything I expected it to be with Walton and Vitale calling it.

They are talking about everything under the sun EXCEPT THE ACTUAL GAME!!!!

I consider both to be overrated announcers. Never saw the big deal with any of them.

Tonight the Cavs are playing the best ball I have seen from a team that isn't in the ACC! They are going to give Dean Smith fits tonight! Like my friend Jimmy V would say. Never ever give up! It's going to be awesome, BABY!
