Did you know Pat Riley's really overrated?:surprised:

Many here questioned Spoelstra.

Hes proven to not only be a good coach, but a good leader.
This group could have easily given up, especially with several players knowing they could easily be gone next season.
Thats why im leaning to wanting to keep them.

I've seen people question Spo before. Don't really understand why though. I think he's a good HC.

@WiggyRuss

How dare Riley not have assets stashed??

CLEVELAND, OH - July 10, 2010 - The Cleveland Cavaliers agreed to a sign-and-trade deal with the Miami Heat to acquire the rights to five future draft picks and receive a traded player exception for free-agent forward LeBron James, Cavaliers General Manager Chris Grant announced today. Per team and league policy, terms of the contract were not released.

"This deal provides us with multiple key assets and additional flexibility as we move forward for both the short term and beyond," said Cavaliers General Manager Chris Grant.

Cleveland now owns two of Miami’s first-round draft picks starting no earlier than 2013 and continuing through 2017, the Heat’s 2012 second-round pick from New Orleans, and the future second-round pick Miami acquired from Oklahoma City. Additionally, Cleveland will have the right to swap 2012 first-round picks with the Heat. The trade also gives Cleveland a very large trade exception, which the Cavaliers can now use in trades within one calendar year.

The Toronto Raptors announced Friday they have acquired two first-round draft picks and a trade exception from the Miami Heat in exchange for forward Chris Bosh. The Raptors facilitated a sign-and-trade with Bosh.

InsideHoops.com will post details of Bosh’s contract this weekend.

“We all just witnessed an unprecedented moment in professional sports as these three young stars have joined forces in an attempt to completely transform this league. We are certainly sorry to see Chris leave, but we are planning to use these acquired assets to retool our roster and evolve as an organization,” said Raptors President and General Manager Bryan Colangelo.

The Raptors reacquired their own 2011 first-round pick originally sent to the Heat on February 13, 2009 (trade of Jermaine O’Neal and Jamario Moon for Shawn Marion and Marcus Banks) and Miami’s 2011 first-round draft choice (lottery protected
my argument- which you have "conveniently" never refuted or addressed (becuase you cant) is that the few assets the Heat did have were used to save money.

leaving the MLE open

trading a 1st rounder to get off Joel Anthony's bad contract

amnestying mike miller to see him go play 82 games and shoot 46% from 3

those 3 moves were ENTIRELY motivated by Arisons unwillingess to spend on a level that Dan Gilbert has spent and is spending.

1) Who was available to use the MLE on? We've addressed that, you just don't listen. Same argument as to why you say Gilbert's not going to throw money at players blindly even though you say money's not a factor for ol' Danny boy. It's the same where the Heat aren't going to use the MLE on a player just because if the player's not worth it given the luxury tax penalties that go with it.

2) It's Joel Anthony. Not every move is perfect and he wasn't worth the money.

3) Have you seen Mike Miller's injury history while with the Heat? He cost the Heat nearly $20 mil in luxury tax and was seldom available:

But you keep doing you. You fail to listen to logic and only believe what goes on in Wiggy-world.

lol...could u imagine that? LeBron "Dan- why didnt you spend the midlevel exception?"--- "we couldnt find anyone willing to take 3.5M dollars that was any good"----

you brag about being able to find players- and then say you couldnt find one with a 3.5M player exception to come play in Miami?

LOL

DeMarre Carroll is just one example of a guy that was avalaible that offseason- the PERFECT type of wing player that could have been useful of the bench and spelled lebron at times.

but keep being in denial

i cant believe you would actually make that argument. Its beyond stupid.

its cool guys- I get it--- Arison wasnt/isnt willing to spend on a level Dan Gilbert is. Does anyone actually want to argue that and embarrass themselves? because thats what would happen. Thats not just me saying it--- thats cold hard fact backed up by numbers.

I mean the Joel Anthony thing is a PERFECT example

the Cavs traded for Mike Dunleavy in the offseason. He didnt work out. The Cavs could have just strapped their first round pick to him to get rid of his 5M dollar contract--- and in turn that would have saved AT LEAST 18M in taxes...

just getting rid of Dunleavy and using that first round pick to do it would have saved DAn Gilbert AT LEAST 20 million dollars

what does he do?---- he gives Griffin the okay to take back Korver- a guy who WILL actually help the team.

what did ARison do when he had a guy that was on a decent contract that he wanted to get rid of?- he strapped hte first round pick to Joel Anthony-- and took NO ONE back- becuase he didnt want to pay- and just pocketed the savings.

if there is a set of transactions that so starkly shows the difference between the two owner's mentalities- that is definitely it.

thats the difference. thats how you get a payroll 20M OVER the cap....thats the difference between NEVER even being top 2 in the league in payroll.

ill give the Lakers credit- in Kobe's prime- there was barely a year they were not #1 in payroll. When you have a historic talent- you have the responsibiltiy to spend on a historic level....at least that seems to be my opinion- and it certainly seems LEBron Ramone James shares that sentiment.

I guess you'll never understand the concept of smartly spending/running a business vs an owner who made a deal with the Devil and is now way overpaying his posse because of it.

The fact you are still on Miller means you really have nothing.
Im not rehashing it.
If you wanna believe it, go right ahead.

First off, true to your earlier point, and 2nd, we got "we want Oakley" chants at the Knicks game as well. I know exactly what Knick fans are going through. In the past, no matter how much us Laker fans disagreed, we always agreed, and sort of bonded over our united disdain for Jim Buss

Dude, I hate y'all.

But, even I was disgusted by the state of affairs in Lakerland.

It's a testament to Dr. Buss' legacy that he is both loved, and respected, by people, players, executives outside of his fan base.

Dolan will never have that. He is Universally loathed.

What do you think of the extra security thing?

People are crazy.

But, this is like a College town.

What does he think they are gonna do, shoot up the team bus?

Very stupid if you ask me. People are not that crazy especially when they still have a superstar like Russ

My first thought was: What a bitch.

But, then I remembered two things....

1. He is an extremely sensitive Dude. I mean, he stayed in bed for two days because people were mad at him.

2. Lord knows what people are sending him on social media. People are kray-kray

I just hope people don't fuck with his mom. Talk shit...Boo.....But, don't take it out on his family.

She shouldn't even be there or should be watching in a box.
