Kyle Korver, 'American Eagle' to the Cavaliers, soars in Indiana
One month and one day after the Cleveland Cavaliers acquired Kyle Korver in the surprise trade of the NBA season so far, the assassin went out and put on a performance unlike anything we've seen out of him in almost 10 years.

Korver scored 29 points on 12 shots in Cleveland's 132-117 win over the Indiana Pacers on Wednesday.

There might not be nights as special as Wednesday, so it's worth mentioning that the last time he put up this many points he was playing for Philadelphia alongside Joe Smith against a New York Knicks team featuring Stephon Marbury and Eddy Curry

I thought, like most people did, it would be a great addition for Lebron. He is great at finding the open man. You leave Korver open, especially when he is hot and he is one of the best of all-time. Imagine how key he can be off the bench, the shitty defense they will just have to live with.

I hope they can get Bogut. That would be a huge pickup for paint protection off the bench.

Bogut and a PG.....eventually...hopefully something through the buyout market...

but when fully healthy- look at the roster

1. Bron
2. KI
3. Love
4. TT
5. Smith
6. Korver
7. Frye
8. Shumpert
9. Jefferson

that right there is your playoff roster....i suppose if bogut is bought out he would become an option for a couple minutes here or there- but unless they make a semi-decent move- there roster is what it is.

I just think they need a rim protector/rebounder off the bench, it's what they are missing along with a capable PG off the bench. If they can get two decent guys it will help in case of another injury or just for more support.

Yeah then he got his opportunity and was bad. I made those post very early in the season. Ended up getting his chance due to injuries and couldn't even get minutes over freaking Luke Babbitt
it might be very different playing with a team like the Heat with a guy like whiteside in the middle- then playing with LeBron and having a guy like Love in the middle.

Im not saying i expect huge things out of Williams- just that i thought the it was kind of an underated signing for the Heat- doesnt look like he was a good fit there---- maybe he will be a good fit with Bron and Kyrie.

honestly it'd be kinda cool for them to make a playoff run considering how SOME individual(s) continually dogged 'em...
I was one of those individuals, I was all aboard the tank train.

I honestly still think they should be tanking, have no clue what the point is making the playoffs as a 8.7. or 6 seed just to lose in the first round.

But, that's not the Heat way, so I knew they'd be trying to win all these games.

i agree--- especially becuase of the lack of depth.

I mean- if Frye or TT or Love got hurt- they would be very very thin inthe front court- it would force LeBron to play a lot more PF

probably why they are kicking the tires on Williams.

i think just about everyone was on the heat "tank train" when trying to determine whats best for the long term health of the franchise

but its easy to become a prisoner of the moment- see a great winning streak etc. and want to see the team play well.

I have always said the worst place in the NBA is to be right outside the playoffs in the East--- it means you are treading water to a certain degree and wont get a pick---- but if they made the playoffs and got some experience that would be fun.

Finsihing like 9th or 10th in the EAst would be pretty useless and counterproductive.

you're drooling...

:tsk:
I already told him the other day, but I'll say it again, no one in Miami cares anymore about LeBron or that series matchup.

The time to have it was last year, when Wad was still playing for Miami and Bosh was still there and not absolutely pissed at management.

Dragic/Whiteside/Winslow/White/ Johnson/McGruder

Pretty much the whole roster, has no ill will against LeBron as they weren't on the team when he made his decision to go to Cleveland.

Hey, you have the top 2 picks of the 2011 draft!!!!!I

#2peat

:heh:
at hte time of the draft there was a very sizable contingent that wanted the Cavs to take Derrick Williams with #1 and Brandon Knight with #4.

Instead they of course went KI and Thompson 1 and 4......i cant quite remember how the Cavs got that extra pick.... ;)

needless to say i am happy with how it worked out.

Players don't tank.
At 11-30, or course the mindset had to be the more losses the better, because no one on earth could foresee what we are now seeing.
I say just let it play itself out.

I'd be much more concerned if I were a Bucks, Bulls, Knicks, Raptors, Bobcats, etc... fan...

Where are they going?
What are they adding?

At least the Heat has options, and needs to be in no rush to make any decisions.

the Bucks?--- the Bucks are just at the beginning here---- Middleton is just coming back and he is a really good player. Giannis and Parker are both , what? 22 years old?

Id agree with the Bulls and Knicks- both seem to be disasters right now. At least the Bulls have a star in his prime signed up long term- thats a good place to start. The knicks at least have Porzingis. Id take Butler and Porzingis over a great many guys in the league.

The Raptors are what they are- a very very good team but prob not a great team.....they have some trade assets, extra picks, young guys.

and the Bobcats are fine--- its just a team learning how to deal with climbing up the ladder in my opinion. I mean- Kemba Walker/Batum/MKG/ etc. is a very good place to start.

the HEat--- where are they going, what are they adding- ithink thats a very legitimate question- i mean- we were hearing Dragic trade rumors and ill find plenty of post where people wanted Waiters gone- and now is Dragic staying and Waiters going to resign?--- What is Winslow's future after a year that is pretty much lost after seeming to go backwards offensively, etc.
