I hear ya. But in KD's case his move actually improved his OVERALL play. Hard to see that as anything but impressive IMO.

Outstanding point, My Friend.

He's not just coexisting with the Warriors.

He's excelling.

Can't ever go wrong with wings.

as to our argument- hey its cool- like i said- we are just going to have to agree to disagree on this one- its obvious at this point that neither one us is changing the others opinion.

Agree.

Oh, let me be clear. Maybe I got into a conversation that I didn't realize I was getting into.

I haven't and wouldn't call Durant a bitch for his move. My post about Durant still being a bad guy who meant in humor.

Like I said to @LAD, I think KD had every right to make his decision and there are some things that are actually admirable about it. I think that any winning he achieves with the Warriors will never be able to do for his legacy what winning in OKC or somewhere else would... but if Durant doesn't care, then cool.
So to your point about his legacy- do you think LBJ forming a super team in Miami & winning 2 titles there leaves on asterisk on his legacy?

Yes, I agree.. but weeks like this mean nothing when it comes to the grand scheme of looking at LeBron's legacy.

The only move LeBron has used his power to force that could've hurt his legacy - IMO - was the firing of Blatt. And in the end that move actually helped it.

Now if he forces a melo trade this week and the Cavs start sucking and lose in the 2nd round... that could have some sort of impact on his legacy.

To date... I can't think of a personnel move that was seemingly forced by LeBron that seems like a big mistake.

Even the Blatt move will be forgotten because they won.

How often do folks bring up the fact that Riley backdoored Stan Van?

All we hear is that Wade took over and willed them to a title.

No, asterisk is way too strong, both for him and Durant.

Again, I think there are some important differences between the two that we've already discussed.

But, that aside, yes... LeBron's going to Miami with Riley/Wade to get his first 2 titles does something to his legacy that wouldn't have happened had he stayed in CLE and won there (though IMO that was not feasible and he made the right choice). Same with Durant going to the Warriors, although - imo - moreso due to the success of the Warriors before he arrived.

His detractors will try to use it against him.

Up until recently, anti-Spurs fans put a asterik next to that lock out title every chance they got.

Have not heard a peep about since Tiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiimmy humg em up.

Yeah, that's sort of my point. If forcing moves leads to winning... all is good.

In fact... if you actually look at LeBron's career.. the moment he took control and starting forcing personnel moves is the moment he started winning. His first 7 years he was very hands off and the Cavs FO failed him.

It's not the personnel moves that Lebron forced that will hurt his legacy unless, as you point out, something goes wrong and the Cavs fall apart. Even at that, the moves he forced still brought a title to Cleveland, so even if that were to happen, the title would alleviate most of it.

What will hurt Lebron's legacy is the fact that he forced the roster moves and then passive aggressively threw his FO and teammates under the bus. The team hopping won't help his legacy either.

Exactly. And IMO they (LBJ/KD) did the same thing- so should be viewed equally in their successes related to that decision.

Yeah, and to your point... the more time that goes by... the less the specifics of how these teams came to be will mean.

If Durant 3-peats with the Warriors... in 10 years people will have largely stopped caring or even remembering about Durant's 2016 off-season.

I won't look at the Warriors titles as less than if they win.

Especially if they when 2 in a row, 3 peat.

Yeah, teams can complain about the team being stacked the first year.

But, if they run off 2,3 chips in a row, the rest of the league would have had a chance to make adjustments.

This will be a very important summer.

Free agents need to choose wisely.

I personally don't view his move as a negative. I've never said otherwise.

I do think that it takes away, somewhat, from the potential the winning can do to his legacy - at to least some extent... but if KD's cool with that - more power to him. That's actually admirable in its own way.

But Lebron's legacy isn't diminished for doing the same thing...twice (so far)?

This is why I was trying to tell Wiggy earlier that they should've been making moves during the summer. Not after guys get hurt. The championship teams that have repeats & 3 peats have always tried to get better-even after a winning season. It's the reason the Warriors sought out KD. I don't think there are many people who thought the Warriors couldn't be the Cavs before KD signed.

2nd night of a back to back for the Raptors, no Derozan, and they are still going to blow the doors off the Celtics tonight. We always look like some nervous teenager trying to unhook a bra when we play them. Already a bunch of stupid turnovers.
