its just so stupid by LeBron too--- when you are crying in the media- and saying WE HAVE TO DO THIS- it just totally cuts your GM's legs out from under him with other GM's that KNOW he has to make a move.

like a 2 weeks ago LeBron said- "we need a point guard- this is the last time im gonna mention it"--- and of course- they lose some games, he gets butt-hurt, and keeps mentioning it. Obviously his whining is infecting the team right now- i dont know how else to explain a HOME LOSS to the Kings.

the Cavs have an open roster spot right now- would signing Chalmers to a 10 day contract before he is truly healthy and ready to go going to appease LEBron and stop him from whining?

Its just ridiculous- no one has made more moves more creatively then David Griffin- and Griffin is ALWAYS trying to improve the team. I just dont know what LeBron is hoping to accomplish- it just comes off as whining.

Have to agree with you. Griffin has been working miracles with the little room that he has over in Cleveland given that he's working with a roster deep in the luxury tax. I thought the Frye trade last year and the Korver one this year was a thing of miracles. Bron going to be Bron.

yah....the Kings loss is upsetting just because i look at the peripherals and what was on the court and - besides missing 17 freaking free throws- they didnt play bad....they just arent playing with much heart right now- and i can understand other guys getting discoruaged when LeBron whines like this.

I thought Griff had some great comments last night

Yeah, LeBron was way more mellow after this game. Partly, because Lue and Griff and his teammates talked to him about his comments. And partly, I think, because they actually played better.

Chaos like this can actually be a good thing if it galvanizes them together. Hopefully that's the direction this takes.

It is possible that this is less about Wade being frustrated and wanting to leave and more about him trying to be a leader and bring change to the Bulls' culture?

No. Leaders find ways to lead.
Wade, last week, twice, threatened to leave.

To me, that's the opposite of leadership.

First sign of adversity, what type of leader would just decide to jump ship?

I have no idea....:sadbron:

Dude I get you don't like Wade but the guy is 35 year old. What 35 year old want to be a apart of a rebuilding process when they know they probably only have another 2-3 years left in the league? Wade comments should not have been surprising. There isn't a 35 year old (especially not a future HOF/former superstar) who wants to be a part of a rebuilding team at this stage of his career.

The Bulls (and I'm pretty sure they did) know that Wade does not want to play for a team who is going to be in the lottery. He came to the Bulls with the intention of making the playoffs and winning at least a round. These guys want to end their career by competing in the playoffs. Not on some 20 or 30 win team who season is done before the AS break.

Just saw more of LeBron's comments from last night. He definitely got the message. This is the right message. Better late than never.

"We got 14 guys in here. We need to be ready every night, who we got in here we got to play. We can't play fantasy basketball. We got who we got and we got to go out and play"

On top of that, Wade already went through this rebuilding thing 2x with Miami. This isn't a guy like Kobe who was making the playoffs basically every single year of his career until his 16th or 17th year. He's been through the process. No issues at all with not wanting to go through it again.

Too late. He already disrespected the players on this roster as well as the GM

His words mean nothing.
We all know how he really feels.
Just not sure who he feels he needs to blame, or why.
This is his handpicked group.

Cavs will be in the Finals.
He can bitch and moan if/when they lose 4/7.

That's why I said better late than never. If he's contrite and sincere about it with his teammates, though, this could actually be galvanizing.

What'd he say?
"We're a team that will create an opportunity for ourselves to have to dig out of a hole," Griffin said. "We do it in every single game. It's just how we are. We're not good from the front. We're much better when we're the hunter. I see us every year put ourselves in position to have to fight out of something. It's what we've done as a team, and it's hard for me to tell you we're dealing with a lot of adversity when we're No. 1 in the East. But we have a tendency to be our best when our backs are against the wall, so I have no reason to believe that won't be true now."

"The thing we have to do the most is get better from within," Griffin said in an impromptu news briefing Wednesday before the Cavs' 116-112 overtime home loss to the Sacramento Kings -- the team's sixth defeat in eight games. "This is the team we have, and we really like this team a lot. We believe in this team at a deep level, and we need to get better from within and play better, quite frankly. We need to have a greater sense of urgency and start to develop a championship identity. I think it's clear we have not been doing that."

"The comment about the organization being complacent I think is really misguided," Griffin said. "Organizationally, there is absolutely no lack of clarity on what our goal set is. We are here to win championships, and there is no other solution, there is no other outcome that is acceptable, and there never has been. But in terms of the on-the-court complacency, I've seen a lot of that."

Griffin would not disclose the details of their talk -- "I'm going to keep that in-house, but it was a good conversation," he said. "I think we both needed it. I'm happy it happened." -- nor would he say whether James expressed any remorse.

What Griffin would say is that James' call to action will not have any effect on his pre-existing plans to address the roster as he deems fit.

"Nothing changes our timeline," Griffin said. "Nothing changes our game plan, and we're still working the same avenues, and we'll continue to do so."

Cavaliers GM David Griffin took exception to LeBron James calling out the franchise's commitment, telling reporters Wednesday, "The comment about the organization being complacent I think is really misguided." Derick E. Hingle/USA TODAY Sports

A team source told ESPN that Griffin expressed his disappointment in James for the manner in which he shared his thoughts on the roster.

"It wouldn't have been my preferred method," Griffin told reporters. "It certainly wasn't appropriate from a teammate perspective. But, it is what it is."

I have no issue with it either, other then he left a team in that position to join a roster that most projected to not be that great.

He said other than Miami, Chicago was only city he considered.

So again, what is he bitching about?

It was choice of shitty team A or a little less shitty team B.

In addition to displeasure about spending, James has hinted he's upset at some of the way the back end of the roster was assembled. On Monday, James mentioned veterans like Raymond Felton and Michael Beasley were signed to contracts for the league minimum with other teams in the offseason. He also referenced veteran Dahntay Jones, who was on the roster for the playoffs last season and was released by the team in the preseason.

Beasley.....

Never, ever thought I would say this... but I have to side with Dan Gilbert over LeBron on this one. LeBron implying that the organization was satisfied was a low blow to a front office that hasn't been pulling punches.

The article said Griffin met with LeBron one-on-one and Lue met with the whole team to talk about LeBron's comments. IMO, LeBron has the right personality to recover from this with his teammates and something good may actually come of all of this.

yah i saw that

it just makes no sense from LeBron though.

If the Cavs were offered Deron Williams tomorrow just to take his contract- of course they are going to do it.

If mario Chalmers was healthy and ready to contribute- they wouldha ve offered him a deal by now- same with Jack and Cole----- its telling that NO ONE has signed any of those guys yet.

no one gets bought out till AFTER the trade deadline.

the Cavs were the first team to make a trade basically repalcing Dunleavy with Korver which is a massive upgrade.

If they havent made a another move by the time the playoff roster is set- i can see LEBron's whining a little bit more understandable---- but they of course are ALWAYS trying to make moves. I said weeks ago i expect the Cavs to add at least 2 rotation players to the team- and Korver is one of them

all LeBron does by whining right now is cut Griffin's legs out from under him in negotiations with other teams. The Cavs are in 1st place. They are gonna have home court in the East. When LeBron is whining like this it makes Griffin deal from a position of weakness in negotiations- and its just stupid. 2 weeks ago LeBron said- we need a point guard- this is the last time i am gonna talk about it.---instead they lose some games becuase of piss-poor effort against the Kings and Pelicans--- and its becuase we dont have a back up point guard that can play 18 minutes a game?

its just ridiculous. Im glad Griffin stood up for himself and said this kind of crap is not appropriate.
