4. The Cavaliers' problems go beyond that, though, however. Their defense is in shambles, after being really good to start the year. That's not on the playmaker. That's just endemic to their team. Some of this is boredom and malaise of January, but some of it is a genuine concern that they need to address. They lost size in Timofey Mozgov and backcourt defense in Matthew Dellavedova and didn't recoup them in any way.

its just so stupid by LeBron too--- when you are crying in the media- and saying WE HAVE TO DO THIS- it just totally cuts your GM's legs out from under him with other GM's that KNOW he has to make a move.

like a 2 weeks ago LeBron said- "we need a point guard- this is the last time im gonna mention it"--- and of course- they lose some games, he gets butt-hurt, and keeps mentioning it. Obviously his whining is infecting the team right now- i dont know how else to explain a HOME LOSS to the Kings.

the Cavs have an open roster spot right now- would signing Chalmers to a 10 day contract before he is truly healthy and ready to go going to appease LEBron and stop him from whining?

Its just ridiculous- no one has made more moves more creatively then David Griffin- and Griffin is ALWAYS trying to improve the team. I just dont know what LeBron is hoping to accomplish- it just comes off as whining.

Why in the world would Mario Chalmers sign a 10 day contract?

Here's my best guess.

Wade realized the Bulls are a mess, and he's not a worshiped hometown hero as he had hoped.

By the time the All Star game comes around, he will have been paid the bulk of this years contract.

He doesn't want to play there next year.

So, he bitches and moans and gets bought out.

That get Bulls off the hook, lets him deal with next year, next summer, and gives him a chance to sign with Cavs for the minimum for the playoff run.

Pretty sure the Bulls won't be buying him out. He has a player option for next season. He will opt out of that. If he is leaving Chicago this season, it will be via trade. Also based on everything I been reading from different Bulls writers, they seem to back Wade and Butler. Hoiberg seems like a shit coach who doesn't have any control of his players and does not know how to control a locker room either. Hard to see the Bulls buying him out when he's going to be a free agent in July. Just doesn't make sense

At the end of the day Wade did not expect to win a title this year so seeing him request to bought out to go to a contender just doesn't make sense. He is more frustrated because he probably looked at this team as one who can be similar to the Heat last year. Finish top 4 in the East and win a round or so. Right now it's looking like they will struggle to even make the playoffs which IMO is what's really bothering him

2 games in the row they trusted the last shot to a guy not named Kyrie

why? I have no idea.

James has taken/hit tons of big shots.
Problem with last night was the shot selection.
There was plenty of time to get a much better look.

Everything is so results-based in sports. As it should be... but sometimes it gets in the way of seeing what is really happening.

The Cavs were awful on their road trip on both sides of the ball. They were awful on defense against the Pelicans. But they actually played quite well against the Spurs and Kings (except FT shooting).

A buyout would guarantee he can't opt in next summer, if that's what they are afraid of.

As far as this year, Wade backed himself into a corner once he made it about money.

A buyout and move to Cavs would give him his money and a chance to play for a title.

I disagree.

Of all the things the Cavs could've executed better to get the win (like make a free throw or not leave afflalo wide open to try and double-team a guy on the other side of the floor)... this just isn't one of them.

LeBron took the inbounds and both defenders immediately went under and backed off. He was wide open from arguably his most comfortable spot from 3. Looked good too.

It is possible that this is less about Wade being frustrated and wanting to leave and more about him trying to be a leader and bring change to the Bulls' culture?

I could see that. He was so used to the Heat culture which is clearly much better than whatever is going on in Chicago. I'm assuming this is very appalling to him.

Yeah, I'm sure Wade knew when he picked Chicago that it wasn't going to have the culture of Miami. No where was. Miami is world class in that regard. I imagine part of the appeal to him was the chance to bring what he learned in Miami to make their organization better. LeBron has talked about the same thing a lot going from Miami to CLE.

It might be a much harder task than he imagined, though.

yah....the Kings loss is upsetting just because i look at the peripherals and what was on the court and - besides missing 17 freaking free throws- they didnt play bad....they just arent playing with much heart right now- and i can understand other guys getting discoruaged when LeBron whines like this.

I thought Griff had some great comments last night
