RIP in 2016:

Prince, Bowie, Ali, Craig Sager, Alan Rickman, George Michael, all those poor saps at that nightclub in Orlando, and the dignity of the office of the US President.

I forgot a few: Phife Dawg, Leonard Cohen, Leon Russell, Gene Wilder, Garry Shandling....

2016 just sucks so much

Some thoughts on that cavs dubs game.

At this point, it's tough to ignore how badly Kyrie has been outplaying Steph. Kyrie has taken his game to another level while Steph is nowhere near the MVP level of the last 2 years. Maybe that will change going forward? Who knows. But Durant outplayed LeBron and Klay played very well...it's pretty crazy that they lost with those two playing that well. Other than KD and Klay, a lot of guys laid an egg other than Curry. That was the first game where Love had a bigger impact on the game than Draymond. And Tristan continued to beast on the Warriors centers. Add to that, Livingston and Iguodala were not impactful at all. Kinda remarkable how the Warriors were in a great position to win despite all of that. Hopefully Curry can find himself...because if Kyrie continues to outplay him, that changes this matchup drastically going forward in favor of the Cavs.

Love playing well this year is a big positive, especially considering you added durant. It was like a big 2 last year with love playing pretty badly. We were missing smith who usually puts in a few 3's and plays good defense.

If GS didn't add durant i wonder what would have happened to gs

Yeah love has played awesome. Draymond getting 2 early fouls helped him a lot lol. Draymond would lock that boy down. But yeah jr is good for this game

liggins did play pretty good defense- but not getting any points from your starting shooting guard isnt exactly ideal...

I think it's fair to say that Kyrie has surpassed Lebron as far as being the closer on that team
ehhh....thats tough to say but LeBron is gonna get his fair share....

Kyrie with 25 points, 10 assists, 7 steals, 6 boards and the game winner on Klay Thompson--- and made another very nice clutch 3 pt. with Draymond in his face......he is freaking clutch.

Kyrie just can beat you so many ways offensively and his game plays against good defense- his handle is just ridiculous- he gets wherever he wants to on the court.

Thompson played good defense on him- as good as he could- but what are you gonna do? he hit a great shot.

Itll be funny when Kyrie makes another ALL NBA team this year for people to try and say he isnt one of the top pg's in the game.

Curry, Westbrook, CP3---- Kyrie Irving is no lower than 4th thats for sure.

More Jefferson on how Cavs held GSW to 13pts over final 9:20:

gotta give Durant a lot of credit though- he played his ass off....looked amazing. Klay and Draymond both played good basketball as well....

Curry just didnt play like himself and the Warriors bench didnt do anything....

Iggy, Livingston, Looney, Clark, McGee, and West all played- 6 bench players- Iggy and Livingston combining for 2 points does not help things becuase the rest of the bench is just not guys i would trust in an important game- this Warriors team only really goes 7 deep of credible NBa players right now..

All you need in the playoffs. I felt like West gave them the best minutes. Wished he played more. Zaza brings nothing to the table vs cleveland

Eh...he (Curry) should be better but just cleaning up a few odds and ends would have won them the game today (probably the Finals last year as well but let's stick to the game). GS lost that game down the stretch because Curry and Green got reckless with the ball. Period. Curry had a ridiculous TO on a behind the back no look that blew an easy lay up. Green threw at least 3 (by my count) lazy passes into traffic without bothering to survey the floor in the 4th quarter alone. It's all carelessness. They can beat every other team being that reckless. They have to learn they can't beat the Cavs being that lackadaisical with the ball. GS runs probably the most gorgeous basketball sets in the game. Just make the simple pass

I can't follow the NBA anymore. I have realized that the referees decide over half of all close games. It's probably not done on purpose, but the calls they miss or phantom calls they make go an awful long way in deciding the winner. And they screw up a ton. The game has shifted more towards "earning" calls than actually playing the game. I find it incredibly annoying and the NBA is the only professional sports league that suffers from this issue at such a high degree.

While I agree with most of what you said I dont think it is remarkable the Warriors were in great position when they outplayed the Cavs basically the entire game other than turning the ball over. The Cavs missed a ton of baskets around the paint, even Lebron, and they shot under 40% from the field, that is bad for them without having one of their best shooters. A win is a win but not playing near their best when KD and Klay go off...that is a game GS wins 99 out of 100 times. So for the Cavs to pull it out is pretty remarkable and has to be a concerning loss for GS bc they NEVER give up huge leads and lose. All that being said, it's still only one game and Curry doesnt need to play a great game with the players he has around him, he just needs to play decent defense which he isnt doing.

yah the Cavs threw the ball around and looked out of sync early in the game. The Warriors play a funky style obviously and it takes a while to get used to- especially when DeAndre Liggins who is a nonthreat offensively is out there.

I actually thought Tristan played a great game defensively and did a great job on the glass as well.

funny quote from McMenamin of ESPN...

There again was Irving hitting the deciding dagger -- this time a turnaround fadeaway jumper over Klay Thompson rather than a pull-up 3-pointer over Stephen Curry. There again was Green losing his cool, getting called for a technical foul less than three minutes into the game, bringing to mind his suspension-causing altercation with James back in Game 4. There again was Curry being outclassed on both ends of the floor by Irving, just as he was in Game 7, as the Cavs star put up 25 points, 10 assists, 6 rebounds and a career-high 7 steals compared to 15, 3, 3 and 3 for the two-time MVP.

Back in October, at James’ Halloween party that made headlines for its mock tombstones that memorialized the Warriors’ lost 3-1 Finals lead, sources told ESPN.com there was even a dummy dressed up like Curry on the floor of the haunted house that guests had no choice but to walk over when they arrived to get to the party.

one of the funnest things for me is to see Kyrie Irving keep evolving. He again out played Curry- had 7 steals....out of his 10 assists 5 of them were to LeBron. He is really starting to show that he is more than just a scorer with his playmaking and defensive intensity thus far this year.

and nobody can doubt Kyrie's clutchness and ability to score when it matters most. Klay Thompson was right on him defensively but - as is so often the case in the NBA- when you have a great player like Kyrie - great offense beats great defense.

The Cavs are 23-6...Kyrie is playing the best ball of his career-

Richard Jefferson was such a great pickup as a role player for the Cavs....on Foxsports the other day he was joking how the team keeps telling him to keep himself in bubblewrap until April- that they dont need him until April- but he really is an underated leader and underated part of this team even though he is 36 years old...you can see he can still make plays when he has too. Even with Jr Smith out- having wings like Shumpert and Jefferson off the bench is a nice way to matchup vs. Golden State....you need those type of guys.

JAson Lloyd reported there is a chance that KI and LBJ sit tomorrow @ Detroit- id be fine with that after tonight...what a great game on Christmas- it definitely lived up to the hype as the most anticipated regular season game of the season even if its implications after today are close to nil.
