if he wanted to hang around 2-3 more years and come off the bench- he could be a useful player....i doubt he wants to do that though.

Dion's decision making is just so bad. The guy has so much raw talent but no clue how to play NBA basketball in a winning way. It's a shame.

yah... which was precisely about a decade ago and represents about the last time USC mattered on a national scale.

i actually do think they are the best team in the Pac 10 this year- they have a great great defense--- but you cant piss away games.

Some folks are talking about the committee factoring USC into the playoff if they dominate Notre Dame tomorrow.

It's pretty stupid that they are and it's not gonna happen, the playoffs are about the full season of work, not who's hot right now. But it's being talked about.

Seriously though, at the moment, he's worth it just for the leadership he has been providing. I've seen, on a few occasions when 1 or more of the young guys is struggling, he pulls them aside in game and talks to them. Each time, the guy responded. He's done it with D'Angelo at least 3 times this season that I've seen.

Now, in a couple of years, when the young guys are truly coming into their own and not really needing him to mentor them as much, he's not going to be worth it.

In short, I don't have a problem with the money. I don't like the length of the contract. I wish there was a team option on at least the last year. But beggars can't be choosers and coming off a 17 win season, the Lakers were beggars.

They look to be in good shape going into next year. The defensive front 7 is young, so I think at least 6 of them will be back. Darnold at qb has some Russell Wilson in his and we have some good young receivers. Plus, RoJo will be back running the ball. He and Aca Cedric Ware look like they could be a Bush/Lendale White tandem (hopefully without the free house).

Next year, they should be a top 10 team, but, imo, they won't have the depth and experience to truly be ready for the playoff until the following year.

Rose Bowl would be pretty amazing...shit- if the Buckeyes get snubbed they might be playing them in that game....
