just out of curiosity- does anyone out there think that LeBron made a mistake by not playing last night?

i dont- i am all for the maintenance and extending his career-- just interested if anyone else out there thinks otherwise.

No. We've told you last year that the Cavs will be judged in the playoffs - particularly the Finals. Same concept applies here.

I don't.
James knows his body better then anyone.
Sucks for the fans, but that's not his problem.

How about those Philadelphia 76ers? 2-2 in their last 4, including a win over Indiana. Cleveland better watch out.

Sixers gonna beat dat Cavs ass.

As long as Lebron, Kyrie and Love don't play and they start Dan Gilbert at center. :dhd:

Personally, I think he made the right call. Going the Kobe route of trying to play every single night because the fans are paying to see you is admirable. But we all saw how his body literally fell apart on him.

Lebron has more miles on his body than Kobe did at the same age. While he's a physical freak, he's still made of flesh and bone (I think) and those miles will eventually catch up. The more he can rest now, the longer he should be able to hold off the inevitable.

6. More of that good Frye Love
Tyronn Lue unleashed this all-shooting, defense-challenged frontcourt for 55 minutes over last season's playoffs after using it for just 30 minutes total in the regular season. Bad news for every team outside Oakland: Lue is confident in the Love-Frye combo now, and he's rolled it out already for 60 minutes this season.

Opposing coaches feared this lineup last season, and wondered privately why Lue wouldn't use it. Love and Frye will never be defensive stoppers, and the Cavs probably can't play them together against Golden State's Death Lineup. But they do fine against basically everyone else, including the East's patsies, and the Cavs are unguardable when they surround LeBron with maximum shooting.

The Love-Frye duo forms a powerful antidote to any behemoth center. You think Dwight Howard and Jonas Valanciunas want to chase these dudes 30 feet from the hoop? Those guys might hurt Cleveland in the post, but the math tilts in the Cavs' favor.

Offense gets really simple with five shooters on the floor: station Love and Frye near the elbows, run cutters off of them, and wait for someone to pop open.

I don't have any issues with him resting but I have issues with the following:

1) Resting in November. The season isn't a month old. Unless you're coming off an injury/history of injuries or you're old as dirt then there's no reason for anyone to be resting in November.

2) Do this at home. Its really not fair to those fans who paid a ridiculous money to see the Cavs in one of their two visits or possibly their only visit to that arena. If all NBA ticket prices were equal then it wouldn't be a big deal.
