I want him gone....like right now

I'm cool with him sitting out the year, too be honest. Albeit we never argued in favor of Waiters, this is one argument that Wiggy got right - or rather prediction since we never really argued that Waiters would be good. There's a reason he's making $2.9 mil compared to what his peers are making.

And to think at one point we had an argument about him being better than Wade when he was drafted.

i bet the Raptors are thrilled with Phil Jackson right now...

LeBron-- 10/15 shooting, 28 pts, 14 assists, 9 rebounds---- (now averaging 9.6 apg- unreal)

Yeah, a great game against the Raptors. That'll teach the GM of the Knicks. :L

Very interesting article from the Washington Post on the Cavs and their defense. Obviously the Cavs offense is elite- but their defense has done some really good things.

Cavaliers defense may not look like much on paper, but Cleveland’s onto something

Why? The Cavs are keeping opponents away from corner threes and defending the restricted area well.

If you watch the Cavaliers play, it could be frustrating to see them allow so many three-point shots — their opponents take 28.7 shots per game from beyond the three-point line this season, the third-highest total in the NBA — but not all three-point shots are created equal. And that’s where the Cavs get you.

Last season, the Cavaliers allowed opponents to score 102.3 points per 100 possessions, the 10th-best mark in the NBA. This year, they are allowing 101.7, but the frequency of corner threes has dropped dramatically, accounting for 19 percent of three-point shots against compared to 25.4 percent a year ago.

This is significant because three-point shots taken anywhere but the court’s corners are longer (a foot and nine inches longer, to be exact) and see a lower rate of success. Leaguewide since the start of the 2015-16 season, three-point attempts from these farther-away areas produce 1.04 points per shot while being made 34.8 percent of the time. The corner three, on the other hand, has produced 1.13 points per shot on 37.7 percent shooting.

The least efficient shot in the NBA is from midrange, which produces 0.8 points per shot off 39.8 percent shooting, and the Cavs are forcing opponents to take 21.2 of these shots per game, ninth-most in the NBA. The highest quality shot occurs in the restricted area, the portion of the key denoted by an arc in the painted area that is positioned four feet from the basket. Shots from this location (think: dunks, layups) produce a league-high 1.205 points per shot and carry a robust 60.2 percent success rate from the field. Cleveland is forcing 25.6 shots of this type per game, 10th most in the league.

The team knows they are funneling shots to the inefficient parts of the court, therefore they aren’t as concerned about contesting them. In other words, part of the Cavaliers’ game plan is to allow their opponents to beat themselves.

Fucking Byron Scott started that crap.

Last night...Russell with 32 points, 8 rebounds, 4 assists and 3 steals. Started 5 of 5 on 3's. Randle with 17 points, 14 rebounds and 10 assists.

This team isn't finishing above .500 or even winning 40 games, but they sure are a blast to watch develop.

Last season, it took them 34 games to get to 7 wins. This years it's taken 12.

Channing Frye with the back-to-back 20 point games. Dont see that often- a guy besides LeBron, KI, Love (and even JR)- going for 20 in back to back games. He has been lighting it up from 3 and is a real weapon now that the Cavs have had some time to integrate him into that offense.

Everyone is eyeing Westbrook and Harden.

But, Bron will come very close to averaging a triple double.

VERY CLOSE while still winning at a high level.

Draymond too. But, his scoring will be half Brons.

Some might see that as less impressive.

Not me. I see it as a guy sacrificing to win.

Yes.Wasn't he supposed to slack off once he got a contract? Hassan, Richardson, & Tyler make the Heat worth watching. Also the fact that we have a really good defense which means most games will be close and worth watching. At the moment we're 4th in DEF EFF and 2nd in OPP FG%.
do you really like watching that style of basketball though? The Heat usually rank last or almost last in point given up and last or almost last in points scored.....it just reminds me of the atrociously boring basketball of the 90's where they just try and muck everything up.

The Heat are 29th in PPG, and 5th in oppg.

I'll be damned if Derozan wasn't impressing the hell out of me so far. His game defies all logic in this day and age. His mid-range game might be the best in the NBA. Add that he's athletic enough to get to the hoop and he's been putting up spectacular numbers. The Klay/Derozan matchup is one that I'll be really interested to watch. Both are about the same height so neither has an edge there. Klay's better from the perimeter. Derozan better at getting to the bucket. Also you might see some additional competitiveness out of Derozan because Klay was ahead of him in USA basketball with Derozan being benched a lot of times. It's the game within the game that I'll be looking forward to tonight.

He's going to have Klay for dinner tonight :heh:

Entirely possible. The only real difference that I've seen so far is that Derozan hasn't had to cover as much ground defensively guarding a guy like Klay. I'm hoping that helps fatigue him a bit so he isn't as effective down the stretch. Still think he's putting up 25 tonight easy.

This is a game where I could see Klay not being as efficient from the field, but trying his best to put the clamps on Derozan.
