I hate to say this, because I love the guy, great Giant, but it feels pretty obvious to me that old man is gonna get lit up in the AL, and in that park.

But I hope I'm wrong

Me, too. I really don't want to see him go out on a low note. I'll be pulling for him. And getting tickets in August for when the Astros are in town!

I'm a big Vogey guy too......I hope he does well in Houston.

One of my best friends is a lifelong Astros fan, and we live close to Angel Stadium....might have to go see him pitch next year if the schedule shakes out that way.

Maybe they know something we don't.

They know something some of us don't: that paying a bunch for a 33 year old pitcher, who's numbers aren't that great, this particular year isn't a good idea for the long term health of the club.

Shoot, they've been paying him for two years to basically do nothing. I'd say the DFA is overdue.

:L

Which two years are you talking about?

We know about the lost 2014 season.

Perhaps the second year you mention is the 547 AB's he got in 2013, where he hit .297 with a .357 OBP, with a WAR of 3.1? That lost year?

Please get your facts straight before posting.

Or your grammar. You'd be correct to say that they will have paid him for two years (2014 and 2015) with little to no return on the investment. But you use the past tense, "been paying".

He's played a whole two games in the last 18 months and now is coming off back surgery. The DFA is merited.

Why haven't you placed him on your ignore list already? My life is full of bunnies and butterflies ever since I refused to read his drek.
