-247Kelly’s visit couldn’t have gone much better, according to people close to his recruitment. One of tennessee’s top remaining running-back targets in the 2015 class, he made the trip to knoxville for the first time with his mother and his position coach, and he seemed to be blown away by everything the vols had to offer. UT and minnesota appeared to be the teams to beat going into the visit, and he’s still scheduled to visit minnesota next weekend before likely traveling to michigan the weekend of jan. 30.
The wolverines undoubtedly represent the wild card in his recruitment, although minnesota — where kelly’s father lives and where kelly once lived — remains a strong contender, too. Tennessee has put itself in good position with kelly, but the vols will have to continue recruiting him and weather a couple more visits before he announces his decision on national signing day.
-HubbsIt was a busy week for Butch Jones as he spent time with numerous prospects throughout the week. At the beginning of the week he was with each of the Atlanta-area commitments and spent time with Quarte Sapp as well.
We continue to believe Tennessee is the strong leader for Sapp. A visit to Michigan State is likely this weekend and while a Missouri visit is tentatively scheduled, we've also heard that Sapp may not take that visit and decide something after his visit to East Lansing, Mich.
But, as it's been throughout the whole process, Sapp has rarely done what is expected in terms of a timeline and firm dates and times have been hard to come by with him. So, we basically continue to play the wait and see game there.
-HubbsFrom talking to several close to Allen's recruitment we still believe that one is 50/50 Tennessee and Georgia and really just depends on which day you speak with him. Georgia was with him early in the week while Mahoney was with him on Thursday. Butch Jones will be with him next week.
