Maybe he is looking to pave his own path. I think if these guys grab a jersey # that is known for someone else it puts way to much pressure on a new kid. So maybe he can forge his own path with #48!!!

Yea but there are LB numbers out there that don't have any great significance.... 54 (gave it to Shawn Lemon this year), 93 (Cam Thomas took it), 96 (Geathers), or 99 (Keisel's old number)

Any of those numbers would do. But if he prefers the 48, then so be it. Not that big a deal!
