Been studying OF players for 4th round or later. Came across a interesting kid.

Gio Brusa (Great name) LF University of Pacific CA

Good size ...great SH swing. Tore up the Cape League but got hurt. This kid has the tools...he has the look. He could be a solid player at the pro level.

Chris Chatfield OF HS Tampa FLA

Raw skills but Man, this kid has the swing and will develop into a really good player. Fast bat with power. He can run and field. A potential 5 tool player down the line. A nice pick in Round 4 -6

Red Sox have drafted 3 outfielders. They have a ton of good outfielders in the minors waiting to be called up. They need pitching badly and have ignored it. Go figure

I have no actual idea, but maybe they are just drafting what their scouting department knows. The Giants know pitching and infield, so they draft a LOT of it. They avoid OFers because they simply dont have the eye for it.

Maybe Boston has the eye for OFers, but not for pitchers?

Love the Jalen Miller pick. He was ranked in the top 50 on many people's draft boards, great value at 95. Sign-ability could be an issue, but I fully expect his to sign. Above-average power for an up the middle player, solid tools across the board.

Mac Marshall is a solid lefty, average fastball, plus changeup and inconsistent curveball. He has a good feel for pitching and his offerings differ in velocity nicely. 92-90 mph fastball, 78 mph change, 75 mph curve. Here's a short video of him:

6th round pick Steven Duggar from the Giants. He was a pre-season top 50 guy, but fell far over the course of the season. Top round tools, hasn't shown them.

2015 Draft: Steven Duggar, OF | MLB.com

Second round talent in the 6th round. Fastest player in the draft. needs to iprove on hitting in game, but can be a 5 tool player if he starts hitting the ball like he does in practice.

I have never heard of half of these guys before today/yesterday, but so far, I like the draft, with the exception of the Suarez pick. He just seems too risky to me. He looks like he is bringing a LOT of injury history with him...

Osich was a huge injury risk a few years ago, but he's carved out a nice role for himself in the bullpen. Then again, Ray Black was a huge risk as well, and it's not looking like he can stay on the field. I guess for a 3rd pick there's more risk involved, but it sounds like this kids has some real geed stuff from the left side. I trust our scouting that they see something they believe they can fix, and hopefully put his injuries behind him.
