SportsHoopla's #1 Bucknut
It's draft day boys and I'm doing some of this..
@Eklund: well, you can officially add the flyers to teams trying to get to #3. Heard two solid prospects in play and #7.
Oh Christ
exactly. fortunately that's eklund.
unless it's for Marner, I'm very concerned about moving up to #3.
.. oh em gee though. what if it is for Marner.
Marner would be okay.
Eklund says solid prospects are 1 on defense, 1 up front. Who is the Flyers solid prospect up front? Laughton? I'd be ok with Morin+Laughton+#7 to move to 3, even if it's for Provorov.
As long as it's not Sanheim or Ghost.
I can't bring myself to use Sanheim, Ghost, or Morin as a trade chip even for Marner. Laughton I'd gladly dangle and Hagg could be out there, but I don't think that will be enough.
That's what concerns me though. If they move up to #3, I don't see how they do it without moving one of those guys. CBJ supposedly offered #8, Anisimov, and Rychel. Hagg, Laughton, and #7 doesn't compare to that IMO.
Which is why I'd rather stay at 7.
You're right. As much as Marner would kick ass trading up just has way too much risk at that price.
If Columbus jumps up and takes Hanifin I think Provorov might not get by Carolina
Which means Strome, Brazal, and/or Zacha will be available. Perfect.
Hextall is playing up the trade to make sure someone jumps ahead of them to take Provorov or Hanifin so those 3 fall. Genius!
I believe that the Flyers want a forward so this could be a smokescreen. I'd hate to see them dump a bunch of prospects in trade unless it's for a player that they believe will be a star. Sure thing!
Good calmer heads prevail...I think that a real good player will fall to them anyway. If it happens to be a dman so be it but they could really use a winger.
I agree with the consensus here. Don't over-think this, stay cool. and proceed with the Hextall plan.
