Duncan was hurt versus Phoenix...and he got re-injured versus the Lakers.
Aldridge missed the Lakers game injured as well.
Both are legitimate injuries, but maybe not ones the Spurs could overcome if needed.

I imagine Pop would play Duncan or Aldridge if the game was a playoff game.
By not playing one or both, it will frustrate the Warriors. It is a bit of gamesmanship no doubt.

I would not be surprised if Steph Curry gets hurt before the return game in SA.

I don't think it is gamesmanship if they actually did get injured in prior games.

Some confidence you have in your team.....
lol come on. You know what I meant. I agree with stampede when he said he wouldn't be surprised to see home teams win all the games. Pop knows you don't win titles in January. These games don't mean much to me. Said it from day 1...I'll get excited when they meet in the playoffs. What's wrong with that?

Don't you want home court?

Great teams don't value HCA. I never did the 4 years the Heat were title contenders during the LBJ era because I knew they were good enough to win anywhere. Spurs fans feel the same way. Warriors fan should feel the same as well

Not really. Especially when you have a team with older guys/injur prone players. You're going to concern yourself more with having a healthy roster come playoffs time rather than fighting for HCA throughout the playoffs in the final week of the season. And truth of the matter is they'll have HCA in every series except vs GSW and I have to think that Pop knows if you give them 4 cracks to win in GSW, they'll win at least once....possibly twice

Prime example. Patriots win anywhere else today not named Denver against Denver. Home field is very important

HCA is important for less experienced/less disciplined teams. It's far more important that the Spurs reach the playoffs rested and healthy. Seeding really doesn't mean anything to them.

What about most 1 seeds winning over 2 seeds over the years? If spurs were at home last year they would of beat the clips IMO also.

That is an awful comparison. You're comparing a sport that is one and done to a sport that is a best of 7 series. If a Spurs/Warriors series doesn't go 7 games, you do realize HCA is basically irrelevant right? And that goes for every playoffs series

If the Warriors weren't gunning for 72, I think it would be funny if they got in on the Pops troll and sat out their starters as well. Everyone is hyped for the game till they see Barbosa/Ezeli vs Mills/Boban at the tip.*

*I'd still watch...

It's the Spurs. Normal rules don't apply. Once a team has enough experience, HCA becomes far less important. It becomes about getting to the post season rested and healthy. The Heat were the same way in Lebron's last 2 seasons.

Plus, one seeds usually win because they are the better team, not necessarily because of HCA. The Spurs have 5 titles and I don't think they've been the #1 more than once or twice.
