this is NOT a guy you can build your team around- not a winner anyway. It just doesnt work that way in the NBA.....You can sign Whiteside to be your 3rd best guy-- but if you need him to lead- your screwed- or set an example....the only way you can get winnign basketball out of this guy is with the right vets- in the right role. You simply cant build around a thug like that. Its why Id take Al horford any day of the week 1000 times out of 1000.

the most despicable and thuggish one by FAR is the Olynk one though...I seriously hate that kind of shit. Thugs like that dont belong in the game.

You really are pathetic. At least be a good troll.

Warriors IMO would be better served to just rest players and let 72+ wins just play itself out.
I hated when the Heat was on that 28 game winning streak.
It's not important.

Agreed. It was fun watching the 27-game winning streak, but we all knew that we weren't improving during that time. You're supposed to go through shit during the season. The Spurs went through there's, now the Dubs are going through it. I'd start resting the players because there's no way they're going 4-0 in the final 4 games when two of those games are against the Spurs (one on the road).

yeah, I hear you guys...

breaking the record would be nice, but it won't mean dick if they don't grab an O'Brien with it...

sure seems like the Cavs are in good position to peak at the right time......unlike some other teams.

the ball movement yesterday was as good as I have seen it in the last 2 years. Ty Lue has done a GREAT job fixing the Cavs biggest problem.

Jr Smith set the Cavs single season 3 pt record last night. I remember people on here trying to say Nick Young was basically the same level player. LOL unreal. Once again- time vindicates.

Twenty-one final thoughts to match J.R. Smith's 21 points on his record-setting night.

1. The feeling seems palpable now. The Cavaliers are starting to believe they are legitimate championship contenders. They're coming together at the right time just as coach Tyronn Lue wanted. And if there's one statistic that is a microcosm of what is happening on the court and the chemistry that is developing, it was the NBA record they tied Tuesday night in the BMO Harris Bradley Center.

2. By making 18 3-pointers against the Bucks, the Cavs ran their streak of games with at least 10 triples to 16. According to the Elias Sports Bureau, that tied the Golden State Warriors' 2015 streak as the longest in league history. The Cavs had 12 in the first half and the 18 tied their season high, which they've reached two other times, most recently at the Los Angeles Clippers on March 13.

3. Kevin Love said that mark reveals much about the Cavs' ball movement and the deadly shooters they can be when they play that way. Against the Bucks, they shot 54.7 percent from the field, 50 percent from 3-point range. At halftime, when the game was virtually decided with a 24-point lead, they'd hit 65.8 percent, 66.7 from 3.

4. "I think so, especially on a night like tonight," Love said of the Cavs' improvement at sharing the ball. "Last game same kind of thing. When we move the ball and we always talk about the ball having energy, we just play so much better. I think that's good for us heading into the post-season. If we can continue to do that, we're going to get great shots."

5. The 16 straight double-digit 3s meant something to Smith, too. "Yeah, because that means we're sharing the ball. Love we're doing that," Smith said. " I think we've got enough talent to figure out the rest. As long as the ball doesn't get stagnant, keep moving, playing defense, it just makes the game that much easier and harder for other teams to guard."

James called that style, "my type of basketball. I love when the ball is moving. I couldn’t care less about how many shots I get, as long as the ball is moving and everybody is in a good rhythm and guys feel good about the offensive end. It definitely shows up on the defensive end as well."

The best.

Cavaliers notebook: LeBron James earns back-to-back player of month honors

James, 31, said this is the best he’s felt at this point in the season in the last few years.

Averaging 25.6 points, 8.2 rebounds and 7.1 assists, James became the only player in the league to reach 25, 8 and 7, respectively, in March. He also shot .538 from the field (highest among players who averaged at least 23 points) and added 1.1 steals in 34.1 minutes of 14 games. The Cavs went 10-4 in that span.

The stretch for the 12-time All-Star included seven double-doubles and two triple-doubles.

For James, it marked his 31st monthly honor, most in league history.

It was the Bucks... but the ball movement by the Cavs last night was very, very encouraging. Much more significant than the score or the result... that was my biggest takeaway.

They're playing fine. It's been an easy schedule for them for quite a while. Typically when they played playoffs teams since the AS break, they have not looked that good to be honest with you but they do look great when they play those teams who season finishes next Wednesday

Yeah I remember 14 games ago after they beat the Clippers on the road... I noticed they didn't have another game against a top 6 team in the league. At that point there was nothing left to do in the regular season that would impress anyone.

Yep. The only good teams they faced since then were Miami and Atlanta. Dallas and Houston are ok but I think Atlanta & Miami are clearly better than both of those teams this season.

The Bucks suck. You cursed them. They're already on vacation.
And, we all know that the Cavs will live or die by the 3 point shot.
Both missing and making are usually streaky in games.
James sucks at 3's.
Opponents will be thrilled if the 'other Cavs' are who determine the Cavs fate.

James sucks at 3's.

He had a horrible start to the season shooting... and overall his yearly 3PT% is his worst since his rookie year.

However.... since Feb he has shot 35/91 from 3.... 38%.

oh yah--- it WAS the Bucks- but the ball movement they have been displaying has been improving for a while now. You can tell a marked difference between now and earlier in the year--- the ball used to stick- and if a first action was denied- they used to rely on ISO a lot--- now they swing the ball a lot more- a lot more motion and sharing of the ball. Lue has done an amazing job in that regard. That sharing of the ball just gets contagious. Its pretty cool that we seem to be peaking at the exact right time. LeBron looks like a man-possessed and has really focused since that conversation he had with Lue.

That is improved, but if I'm an opponent, I'll gladly live with James attempting outside shots all game long.

Of which, 12 came in the 22 months he played in Miami.
He's 4/11 since coming back to the Cavs. That's 36% , which I guess is better than his .297 3 PT FG % this season.

Because players are so happy when they get benched. I've seen Tony Parker and Tim Duncan pout when Pop benched them as well. This is much adu about nothing. Spo got his point across
