I still don't understand why Shields was pulled at only 88 pitches unless he was hurt.
True, they weren't exactly hard to hit. But he's the poster boy for spending multiple seasons being a hitter with no power at all to all of a sudden being a top HR threat every season since getting traded to the A's. He can't hit lefties for shit and his average is garbage. But when he does connect, it usually travels very far.
Never know what the morning will bring.Ventura pitched on the final game of the season for 70-75 pitches...Yost should be fired tonight.
Never know what the morning will bring.
Understand. With ya all the way.If the guy strikes out the side Yost is probably seen as a hero. I still think it's retarded when you have the best bullpen in baseball and you go with a rookie starter in them middle of an inning...
I hate him, but he actually did hit lefties this year if you can believe it. He had a better avg vs lefties this year. No power, but he got on base against them.
Yeah, you're right. I just saw that. This year was an anomaly for him though. Career-wise he's been bad against lefties.
In the 5 seasons before joining Oakland, Moss had a total of 15 HR with Boston, Pittsburgh, and Philadelphia.
In the 3 seasons since joining Oakland, Moss has a total of 78 HR.
I'm really struggling to come up with any other names of players who suddenly experienced 750% increase in yearly HR totals in year 6 of his career after getting traded to a pitcher's park.
Believe me, I hate Brandon Moss as much as anyone else. He's a scrubby player who puts up little value, because he cannot play the field. He's just like Chris Carter. The dude hit like 40 homers and wasn't even a 2 win player. Moss is close to the same.
