Locking up another underrated component. Best waiver claim this year.

Columbus Blue Jackets - Blue Jackets re-sign Corey Tropp - Columbus Blue Jackets - News

love that photo for multiple reasons - Oilers getting shelled 3-zip and have a total of 14 shots on goal through 36 minutes. Best part is Eakins is back for another season.

They never should have fired Renney. What a bloody mess since

Renney's biggest mistake was being a little too forthcoming with the media. Ralph Krueger Industrial Smoothing didn't get enough of a chance with the Oil. I still laugh to this day that Krueger was fired by Lowe over Skype.

I still laugh to this day that Krueger was then hired by Southampton FC as President after leaving the Oilers. :wtf2:

Crazy stuff.

Had something to do with his background as an economist and his involvement with the World Economic Forum. Still nuts.

Seems to be doing alright, though - got Man U to shell out £30 million for a teenager, and sold two overrated English plugs to Liverpool for another £30 million+.

I'm a Southampton fan and it's great to see the team back in the Premier League - The Southampton training academy has developed some pretty good players as of late, it's tough to compete with the big boys from a financial perspective however.

They are the only academy in England currently pumping out great players (plural). When was the last time an English superstar emerged from Arsenal's academy? Man U? And they wonder why England can't get out of the fucking group stage...

they're as bad as The Americans.

Pujols, maybe.

The Spanish spend way more on foreigners, but they develop and keep their own, too. And, unsurprisingly, Spain is a global powerhouse with the best league in Europe and the Champions League Trophies to show for it.

Are you gonna go to a home "farewell tour" game this year Spiny ? I imagine tickets to the late season games will be hard to find. I am no Yankees fan , but i do really admire Jeter. I hope his last at bat is a game winning homer

no...there will be too many band-wagoners there. And the ticket prices will be outrageous.
I hope so too. I've said before, but guys like Jeter, as few and far between as they are...are what's good about sports

I'll just drop this here...

Forward Kevin Hayes will not attend the camp as he and the Blackhawks continue to negotiate an entry-level contract, according to Hayes' agent on Tuesday. Hayes had been to the Blackhawks' last four prospect camps since being selected by the Blackhawks as the No. 24 overall pick in the 2010 draft.

Time is running out for Hayes and the Blackhawks to work out a deal. The Blackhawks have until Aug. 15 to sign him or he becomes an unrestricted free agent. If they are unable to agree on a contract before the deadline, the Blackhawks will be given a compensatory second-round draft pick in 2015.

Hayes' agent Robert Murray said Tuesday the negotiations are ongoing between Hayes and the Blackhawks, and there is a possibility the two sides can still come to an agreement.

"Of course he could still sign with Chicago," Murray wrote in a text on Tuesday.

Murray previously said there were a number of criteria, including depth of the organization, they were using to determine whether Hayes would sign. Hayes would likely begin his professional career in the AHL if he signed with the Blackhawks.

I think he definitely gets picked up if he hits the open market.

Of that big line at Boston College, the Flames currently own 2 of them. Maybe Hayes would like to round out the trio?

Exactly what I was thinking - Maybe the Flames have the inside track if Hayes doesn't sign with the Hawks?

Of course caution is advised - He might skate like Hayes, but he shoots like shit...
