Napier is a roleplayer.
He won't suddenly become an allstar. He was probably a borderline 1st/2nd round pick.

But his true value was in the Lebron factor. LBJ wants to play with him.

If the HEAT drafted a "semi-reach" in the first round + resign Lebron = WIN FOR HEAT.
If the HEAT drafted a safer choice in the first round + Lebron walks = LOSS FOR HEAT.

In that context, it was a great pick for Miami and an A+
Now, if Lebron suddenly changes his mind, then its probably nothing more than a C+ grade.

If James leaves then they will be mediocre at best regardless of who was picked yesterday, and IMO that includes Wiggins right on down the line.

Riley made the only pick that he could make.
Personally I see him as Norris Cole II, but Shabazz is a better natural shooter.

Most players that spend 4 years in college aren't that great or they wouldn't have spent 4 years in college.

What he does bring is big game experience/confidence as an NBA rookie, so for the Heat that could be a big plus.

:agree: Allen has one of the most pure shots in league history and keeps himself in great shape. No reason that he can't be effective for at least 2-3 more seasons if used as you describe.

Miller played late into his career for the same reason.

Boston had a great draft. Smart and Young. Nice moves. Also Like what Philly did. Suns also had a nice draft. Jazz had a good draft.

I like what my Bulls did. They wanted their guy and they got him.

Magic with the had a bad draft.
The Bucks got the best player in the draft in Parker.

I don't think heat fans think napier is going to be some future all star. He just needs to be better than cole/Chalmers.
Napier will just be average in the NBA.

LeBron may opt for greener pastures.

The Heat pasture has been in 4 straight NBA Finals...., that's pretty green. Sure he "may" leave, but don't hold your breath.

These guys already KNOW exactly what they are doing.
They are just for the next couple of weeks enjoying seeing their names on ESPN 24/7 and laughing at the so called 'experts' telling everyone what they think will happen, which is quite funny, because you hear 20 different scenarios every day.

The fact that the Heat have made 4 straight finals isn't something that LeBron should ignore.

But its also not something that should be enough, IMO. Another fact is that the Heat look to be in a worse position than they have since year 1 (go back and look at that 2011 roster, it was pretty bad). Of course that can change quickly depending on how all the player options go down.

This is the first time since year 1 that they have had the flexibility to possibly restructure, analyze the lay of the land, and then try to handpick who they think will help them.

Of course they all need to be on the same page, but if they weren't, how could Riley NOT know that by now?

Wade/Bosh would only be hurting themselves by failing to let Riley know their intentions if they still hoped to be on this team with or without James.

If Miami keeps the big 3 they are done. If Im LBJ I wouldn't want to be stuck with Wade and Bosh.

Riley should also fire Spoelstra. Addition by subtraction.
