This is more for Davis_Mike, but the fact remains:

2014 Payrolls And Salaries For Every MLB Team

So, AZ goes into the season #11 in payroll. I don't want to hear anything about buying playoff spots. AZ has the 5th highest payroll in the NL. KT has the dough to get there. If AZ doesn't get to October, it's on him.

So what if the dodgers don't make it? Does that mean the magic Johnson AIDS fund gets a little smaller? I'm sure we can sacrifice some innocent children to sign the next great international player!

Money isn't everything, but it sure helps. At the same time, some of the cheapest teams are playoff contenders:

25. Oakland. 26. Cleveland. 27. Pittsburgh 28. Tampa

So KT definitely doesn't have money as an excuse, only his own incompetence (and a few injuries) if this is another forgettable year (which it will be).

Exactly my point. Truth is, I'm a deep deep closet AZ fan (as long as it is no threat to the Dodgers), but I want AZ to do bad this year so that hopefully KT gets the can, and AZ can get back on track. I just can't see AZ ever succeeding with KT making the deals.

McCarthy is making over 10 million? What a freaking joke! At least the Dodgers are buying talent with their money. Arizona is buying washed up average players. That's the difference.

Combine the McCarthy, Ross and Arroyo contracts and think of what kind of stud we could've signed with that dough... ugh. Anibal Sanchez, Zach Greinke, CJ Wilson, etc. We could've gotten a much more productive player if we just used the money for quality not quantity.
