I'm really wondering how long some of these guys are sticking in San Jose, Bandilla, Blackburn, Crick, Escobar, Bucardo, Marlowe, Mejia are all either starters or former starters coming off of injury. They can't keep all these guys in San Jose while Richmond suffers. Plus Agosta and Stratton are college guys in Augusta!

Come summer, we'll see more guys in AA.

I may be stating the obvious here, but the org often leaves a pitcher "below" where he "should" be (or leaves him there for longer than he should be) so that he can work on something specific in a lower-pressure environment. For example Cain was left in San Jose even though he was *killing* the opposition (ERA 1.86, WHIP 1.032, 11.0 K/9). Talking with the guys at the stadium that year (the team employees with the radar guns) I was told that the Giants wanted him to work on his change-up before going to AA. He had a plus FB and a good curve, but they wanted him to work on that 3rd pitch before his promotion, since he could work his way out of jams easily in San Jose and not lose confidence.

Mac missed his second game in a row tonight after getting taken out after a diving catch on Monday. Early reports were that it was nothing, but now he has missed 2 games from it.

AnVil is hitting a ROBUST .037 on the young season...

Bryce Bandilla has pitched 5 innings and has a 15/2 SO/BB ratio and has given up 2 hits.

Look out for this kid, he's got a nasty fastball from the left side. Former starter now reliever. Could be a quick riser.

Bandilla has been killing it in San Jose, as have Blackburn and Escobar (acquired for Ben Snyder a few years ago).

Blackburn (20yo) 3gs 17ip 9H 2ER (both HR) 2BB 21SO

Escobar(21yo) 3gs 14.2IP 10H 3ER 2BB 20SO

I know Crick gets a lot of attention because of his stuff, but Blackburn continues to impress. He's very polished for a kid out of high school. Glad to see them both building off their solid season in Augusta last year.

A guy to keep an eye on is Adam Duvall. He's older, 24, but has good power, 22HR in Augusta and 30HR last year in SJ. He's off to a great start in AA Richmond. I don't think he can stick at 3B, but should be interesting to see the kinda numbers he can put up in Richmond.

Duvall thumped a big hr when I went to go watch him in SJ

What's his defense like?

Rough, but he's got a real nice arm. Limited range, bad footwork. He's off to a torrid start with the bat though, in a very tough hitters park.

Unfortunately, he just went on the DL. Sprained thumb.

Crick was pulled after 2.1 IP yesterday with an oblique strain. I always get worried with the tiniest injuries to our kids, but this may actually end up being a some-what good thing. Stratton was squeezed out of the SJ rotation and been steam-rolling A-. This may give them the excuse to get him into SJ...

Numbers look great, but they have too many guys below where they need to be (Stratton and Agosta, mainly).

Btw, I assume you are OregonGiants?

Our lower minors are so stacked with pitchers and our upper minors are struggling. Haven't seen anybody in action yet.

And yes that is me.

Class A-Advanced RF Devin Harris has 7 HR's in his past 6 games. Has hit a HR in 6 consecutive days

This guy has been a beast. And he was not even on my radars radar to start the season.

Would be nice to have a surprise bat wake up in the ankhs this year...

What a shot for the kid. He took over for Mac Williamson for that random few games he missed and crushed the ball. That was a few weeks ago though. Manager gave him the everyday DH job after Mac returned and he has continued his power stroke.

I am not sure we have any A prospects right now (think Posey, Villalona, Bumgarner, Anderson, Wheeler), but I think we have an abundance of B+ prospects that have the potential to be something quite special (Mejia, Blackburn, Crick, Escobar, Hembree, etc) and still further guys who are solid B to B+ guys, just with slightly lower ceilings (Stratton, Agosta, Panik, Pags, Kieschnick, etc).

I have said it before, and I will say it again, but for a team with a supposed weak system, we are stacked.
