Giovani Bernard - RB - Bengals

The rib injury Gio Bernard sustained in Thursday night's loss at Miami is not expected to be serious.

Bernard was on his way to a monster game with 15 touches for 105 yards and two touchdowns before taking a shot to the ribs in the fourth quarter. He was in pain on the sidelines, jogged to the locker room and then emerged to watch overtime from the sidelines with his pads still on. It sounds like some kind of bruise or maybe a slight fracture. The electric Bernard has a long week to get ready for a Week 10 game at Baltimore. For now, consider him questionable.

Tyler Eifert - TE - Bengals

Tyler Eifert had three catches for 14 yards in Week 9 against the Dolphins.

Eifert played in two tight end sets and was targeted four times in the passing game. He continues to be limited by Jermaine Gresham, who finished with three catches on seven targets. Eifert won't be more than a low-end TE2 in Week 10 against the Ravens.

Keenan Allen - WR - Chargers

Keenan Allen has drawn the admiration of Chargers veterans for his quick ascension into a featured offensive role.

"I knew he was good, but I've never seen this," said future HOFer Antonio Gates. "I didn't think it would evolve this fast. He is making plays in the game, and I'm like, 'Wow.' ... The boy can play football, and he can get open." Added Philip Rivers, "I say this: It's been impressive what he's done, but he can be even better." Lock in Allen as a Week 9 WR2 against the Redskins.

Justin Hunter - WR - Titans

Justin Hunter (finger) practiced fully on Friday, but is listed as questionable for Week 9 against the Rams.

Hunter popped up on the injury report on Thursday. He practiced fully both days, but was still slapped with a "Q" tag. Tennessee's No. 5 receiver, Hunter has had a disappointing rookie year as the 34th overall pick in the draft.

Tyrann Mathieu - DB - Cardinals

Tyrann Mathieu is now officially listed as the Cardinals starting free safety.

Mathieu started over Rashad Johnson and played every snap against the Falcons in Week 8. He was the NFL defensive rookie of the month in October and already has 59 tackles, two interceptions, one sack, one forced fumble and four tackles for a loss. In other words, the Cardinals got a steal by taking a gamble on the Honey Badger. The guy is an impressive playmaker.

Ziggy Ansah - DL - Lions

Lions RE Ziggy Ansah (ankle) is not expected to play this week against the Steelers.

Ansah suffered a high-ankle sprain in Week 8 and will miss his second consecutive game. Devin Taylor and Willie Young will be the Lions' starting ends Sunday. Ansah has registered 19 tackles, three sacks, and two forced fumbles.

Matt McGloin - QB - Raiders

According to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport, Sunday's start at Houston will be "a big barometer" on whether Matt McGloin can "supplant" Terrelle Pryor as the Raiders' starting quarterback.

In other words, the Raiders aren't committed to Pryor in the least. It makes sense because Pryor has struggled so mightily over his last four starts, but also a reminder that GM Reggie McKenzie didn't pick Pryor. Al Davis did. The fact that Raiders coaches "love" McGloin also gives him a leg up, obviously depending on his performance. He's facing the NFL's No. 1 pass defense on the road.

Mike Glennon - QB - Buccaneers

Mike Glennon completed 14-of-21 passes for 247 yards and two touchdowns in the Bucs' Week 12 win over the Lions.

His four carries for -17 yards will sting a bit in the fantasy box score, but this was another highly efficient effort for a third-round rookie quarterback whose running game was deleted by Detroit's underrated, top-five run defense. Glennon is beginning to look like a true franchise quarterback with accuracy at the intermediate and deep levels, and impressive pocket poise. The Bucs are now on a three-game winning streak. They travel to Carolina in Week 13 to take on the Panthers' elite defense.

Keenan Allen - WR - Chargers

Keenan Allen caught nine passes for 124 yards in Sunday's Week 12 win at Kansas City.

What knee issue? Allen was nothing short of dominant in the first half, catching eight passes and getting open at will against a very good secondary. He slowed down in the second half, only making one sick one-handed grab, but the damage had been done. Allen, clearly Philip Rivers' No. 1 wideout, is now averaging 5.8 catches for 88.3 yards over the last eight games. He'll be a solid WR2 against the Bengals in Week 13.

Eddie Lacy - RB - Packers

Eddie Lacy rushed for 110 yards and one touchdown on 25 carries in the Packers' 26-26, Week 12 tie with the Vikings.

Lacy was a man in this one, just like he's been in every game as a rookie. He caught all six of his targets out of the backfield for an additional 48 yards. Lacy mustered just four yards on his first four carries but took off thereafter. He consistently powered through Minnesota's sieve-like run defense, running over defenders in the process. One of his most impressive runs of the day was on a fourth-and-one. Lacy appeared to be stuffed for a three-yard loss, but sheer will and determination led him through a few arm tackle attempts on his way to a first down. The Packers aren't worried about overworking their powerful rookie back. The Lions are up next on the schedule on Thanksgiving Day. Detroit has been playing pretty stout run defense of late.

Le'Veon Bell - RB - Steelers

Le'Veon Bell had 23 carries for 80 yards in Sunday's Week 12 win over the Browns.

He added two catches for 18 yards. Bell saw a heavy workload and was used as an every-down back, but didn't have any goal-line chances and and averaged just 3.5 yards per carry. He picked up solid yards after contact and showed some good cuts despite not breaking any big plays. Bell has now had at least 16 carries in three straight weeks and will remain a mid-range RB2 in Week 13 against the Ravens.

Tavon Austin - WR - Rams

Tavon Austin rushed for a 65-yard touchdown in St. Louis' Week 12 win over the Bears, adding two catches for an additional 39 yards.

Austin's score, which was his lone rushing attempt of the afternoon, was a thing of beauty. Austin took an end-around and completely changed direction on a dime. He then shook two tackles, got a nice block and was off to the races. The No. 8 overall pick of April's draft has four all-purpose scores over his past two games, but just eight targets in the passing game to show for it. We're finally seeing why the Rams traded up to make Austin the first skill player off the board, but he's just a hail mary WR4 for fantasy purposes. The Rams are running a conservative, run-based offense, and though they're picking their spots with Austin, they aren't forcing the issue.

Ziggy Ansah - DL - Lions

Lions RE Ziggy Ansah (ankle) had two sacks in Sunday's Week 12 loss to the Bucs.

It was Ansah's first game since sustaining a high-ankle sprain in the Week 8 win over the Cowboys. The No. 5 overall pick immediately provided a spark to a struggling pass rush and now has five sacks on the season.

Aaron Dobson - WR - Patriots

Aaron Dobson played on just two snaps after halftime Sunday's overtime win over the Broncos.

Dobson played on 35 snaps in the first half. So he was either benched or he sustained an injury as he gave way to Kenbrell Thompkins. Because this is the Patriots, we won't have an answer until Wednesday's injury report comes out. Regardless, the X receiver spot in New England's offense is growing more unpredictable by the week and it's the fifth option in the passing game anyway. Rob Gronkowski, Shane Vereen, Danny Amendola and Julian Edelman are all better bets for targets at this point.

Eddie Lacy watched video of Adrian Peterson to see how to handle eight-man boxes.

Since Aaron Rodgers (collarbone) has been sidelined, teams have been selling out to stop Lacy. The Vikings did it as well on Sunday, but the rookie still gashed them for 110 yards and a touchdown on 25 carries despite a brief battle with asthma. "[Peterson] is very patient, but even with his patience he has great explosion," Lacy said. "As soon as he finds it, he's hitting it like zero-to-60 really fast. I'm trying to work on the zero-to-60 part." Fat Eddie is a beast even with Scott Tolzien/Matt Flynn, but he'll be an absolute monster once Rodgers gets back.
