Not likely... It's gotta be just the jersey because the Yanks are not that good this year but the Twins have no shot against them...
It's not just the jersey with me. I'm the son of a New Englander even if I did grow up in Mickey Mantle's native state. And I've lived in New England longer than in Oklahoma now.

The jersey only gave me the idea for the nickname, no more than that.

IDK this game should be tied right now (it shouldn't even be played). Everything that can go wrong for the Twins will go wrong against the Yankees for 10+ years now. The passed ball in the top of the 7th, your runner should have gone home and if he had then the runner on second would have scored on Stewart's throw. Then Morneau was a check swing. Another bad call, I know they say that they even out and I have seen a number of them go against the Yankees, but it seems that whenever this two teams get together all the calls go the Yankees way.

Apparently this did post before so I'm now getting rid of some unintentional duplication.

No truer statement has ever been posted...

Is there some rule against optimism when the "Sinstripes" are the opponent?

It turns out today's Minnesota-Yankees game will be on a channel my cable set-up
receives, so I'll watch at least part of it. And not conceding anything to the NYC team.

Been on vacation these past couple weeks but I'm back now (Unfortunately for you all).

What up Twins fans? Ready to get swept by the damn Yanks again? I'm not, but it always seems to happen no matter what. They have owned us for so long that the umps know it and let so many calls go their way you almost want to drive a sledgehammer through the tv! lol

Fuck it. Go Twins!

Hughes has more Ks than Deduno so far, but he's also had to throw more pitches, which will tire him out that much sooner. That's a frequently overlooked disadvantage to being a fastball pitcher. So don't let the K numbers discourage you, Twins fans.

GO TWINS!

Love seeing Sinstripers thrown out stealing. Or making outs any other way actually.

Just tuned in, FYI. Seeing the score tied beats seeing NY ahead, even if it's not what I really want.

Good game for Deduno so far, but he appears ready to be lifted.

Let's do it while he can still get the win.

Giving up multi-run homers is what I love seeing Yankee pitchers do!

Let's get the win in the books now Twins!

Good game by the Twins today. Another close call goes against them, but they were able to overcome it and make Hughes pay for the few mistakes he made.

Nice to see the Twins pick up the W today, wasn't able to watch the game unfortunately. It would be nice to see these guys put a nice little streak together coming out of the break. I know they won't be contending for anything, but dang do I wanna see them finish the season above the White Sox and avoid another season ending in last place.

We beat the Yankees!!! Lets go!!! And get Arcia back in the lineup and let him work through his slump. Send Clete Thomas to Japan.

Loving the win from yesterday though for sure.

As for today, the Twins have not beaten CC since back when he was with the Indians. I wonder if they can break that streak today?

Lets go Twins! :yahoo:

I like Deduno. Although it always seems like a bit of an adventure every time he starts but most of the time he finds a way to get it done which you gotta love.

With all the bad luck the Twins have had against the Yanks over the years, I can't help but say how much I am loving this.

I thought I was going to be feeling goooooooooood after wining a Yanks series for once.

But then I saw that we are sending Arcia, Parm and Escobar down. You have got to be fucking kidding me.

Arcia in the first slump of his career and we send him down??? Clete thomas stays??? Bernier is 33 fucking years old.

We are the worst run REBUILDING team in the history of sports. Our average age increases with every callup.

3 goddamn catcher again? At least its not Butera

My wife told me 11 former/current Twins playing in this All-Star game. I counted 10. Who am I missing?
