Something I'm shocked by: The complete lack of foresight and talent development in LB recruiting.
2008 - Sean Fisher, Micah Krekemeier, Alonzo Whaley, Will compton.
Only one has been a reliable starter.
2009 - Eric Martin, Chris Williams
Eric Martin has been moved to DE, Williams no long w/ program.
2010 - Lavonte David.
Struck gold with David thank god, but it was obvious they needed help at the position yet they didn't sign a SINGLE OTHER LINEBACKER. If David hadn't panned out it would have been a nightmare there.
2011 - Max Pirman, David Santos.
Pirman is a project and Santos is undersized. My god what were they smoking that they didn't think they needed more linebackers?
2012 - Michael Rose, Jared Afalava, Thomas Brown and JUCO Zaire Anderson.
Staff realizes their moronic ignorance and hits panic button with Zaire anderson, coupled with 3 other prospects. Wanted 5 LB's in this class but couldn't land Lambert.
They had better pray Anderson pans out just about as well as David did or we are in a world of shit. It will have been too little too late.
Malik Zaire just moved to the top of my 2013 want list........he's a lefty dual-threat and throws a fucking beautiful ball.
He just put Nebraska in his top 3 along with Ohio State and Pitt. He's from Ohio, but beings that Ohio State has a good thing going with Braxton Miller you'd have to think we have a shot.
