I know squat about the college game but Gabbert doesn't excite me and I'm glad they passed him up.

I know squat about the college game but Gabbert doesn't excite me and I'm glad they passed him up.

Gabbert is too much of a system QB - surprised he went as high as he did. I'm predicting here (and possibly going out on a limb) that most of the teams who picked a QB in the first round will range from somewhat to mightily disappointed.

For our defensive situation, perhaps Baalke could have traded down but he knew what he wanted and made the picks. Solid pick was Kendall Hunter - this guy should get some reps because he can run as a dual threat WCO RB the same way Stepfan Taylor was used under Harbaugh at Stanford.

Culliver is probably a nickel and dime back but once this lockout gets settled, I'm hoping the Niners can grab a CB in free agency.
